Alright, here we go AYC's proposal:
1) points awarded for qualifying
2) reverse grid for top 10 for actual feature race
This is similar to many feeder race series including F2 I believe. It would put emphasis on qualifying to score points, yet force battles and strategies to pass and gain position for the race. We have been stuck with processions for far too long.

And unctiger4 was the only player to guess the race podium correctly, and not only that, he got the first five positions correct ( check out his scorecard). So his scorecard started out great, but somehow he only scored a P5 finish in the race.

So Bearman likely wins at Suzuka...
Reverse grids are a gimmick for lower series.

They're mostly spec series, too. Pretty easy for a good driver to make up the delta when everyone has the same stuff.

interesting article about why dirty air is a problem for 2025 f1

so not only is passing near impossible due to size of the cars and the circuits, chasing cars lose grip and slide more, hurting tyre life.

It doesn’t seem like the new regulations will make the cars that much smaller that it’ll make a difference either.

It is crazy , these cars are about as long and as wide as a 2025 Ford Expedition.

It's already Wednesday! They're in the Middle East now and FP1 is early Friday morning. The TD F1 Championship predictions will be locked out tomorrow (Thursday) evening. Get your updated predictions saved by tomorrow late afternoon!
I have added a new feature. When the predictions are locked out, you will now be able to see everyone's locked-in prediction lists packed together on the prediction page. At a glance you'll be able to see any unusual predictions, especially near the top.
After the practice and qualy sessions, you might get a sense of who did a better job predicting the mid-field and backmarker teams. These are actually more important than the top seven predictions, which are the same seven guys every race (the 2nd Red Bull is not in this group, yet). Even though the scoring is more heavily weighted at the top, we're talking about a group of seven guys where most predictions aren't going to be far off, vs 13 guys where we will see wild swings from race to race. A few guys like Hadjar and Albon are proving to be reliably at the bottom of the top 10, but that still leaves 11 guys who are big question marks. Improving your accuracy in the bottom half of the grid will be the key to scoring points!
Also I think I have improved navigation with breadcrumbs and improved labeling and help text. If someone is unusually successful (sorantable), you can quickly look at all of their scorecards (which now include their ranking and championship points for that race) to maybe get clues to their success.

Iwasa is going to feel a lot of pressure to not fvck up Max's ride.

Trouble at Ferrari already? Leclerc doesn’t seem optimistic for the season.

Yeah, he already blows off their suggestions on the radio during the race. Something isn’t quite right. Still quicker than HAM for now though.

Can you blame him. He's put up with the team's strategic and tactical shenanigans for years, with his feedback probably having little effect only to have the team now hang on every word from Lewis.

Saw that too via The Athletic article.

From what I have seen Luigi's suggestions on setups have resulted in the car going slower. He doesn't understand the car.
Chuck does and should go his own way.

OK you guys, Bahrain is next for the TD F1 Championship. Only a few hours left until the predictions are locked out, so make sure to save your updated list soon!
I will lock the lists at about 7:00pm CT.
We're at the 4th race of the season and for some reason iwyLSUiwy and tccdc still have not saved any prediction list.
These guys finished P3 and P4 in last year's rankings, so I thought they would be a little more enthusiastic about this year's contest. C'mon, we have prizes this year.

The sped-up video in that twitter thread is far more dramatic in showing how much the McLaren wing re-shapes itself at high speed.
Yes, let's hope it's gone by Spain. By then one of them may have a big enough championship lead to try to fight off the Max onslaught that's coming later this season.
