Does Lewis make it out of the races in Asia before completely losing his mind?

Who cares... Like I said earlier, don't blame him for jumping to Ferrari to finish his career with the prestige that the Ferrari brand is, but going to be fricking hilarious if Russell and a rookie drop ferrari in the Constructors this year.

The $400M or whatever it is makes it a lot easier.

They should have given bono a blank check. You know Lewis is missing him.

It appears Haas plan to drive safe means Bearman was 2nd highest finishing rookie out of 6.

But woof, Haas is bad this year. Will they even get points? In a race with such high attrition they still finish bottom of the finishers.

And with 6 rookies, fans are gonna get mad with all their wrecks. Imagine some good racing up front and then “safety car” sign going up. Its gonna be hard to get long runs and strategies played out with them.

And yes, rain caused a lot. But some of the mistakes were bad. Expect a lot of carnage until they have to throttle back to preserve parts. All those wrecks help Bearman as he’s not the only one already behind on parts. Means those others have to be cautious for a while too.

Finish was great. Max is so good, his car is way behind and he still got everything out of it. Loved Piastri dunking on Ham last lap.

It sounds like they did but he didn't want to move his family and Merc gave him a promotion.

They say they know what the problem is and how to fix it. Guess we'll see.

Part of the issue with pre season testing at Bahrain is there are no high speed corners, and that is where the Haas is terrible. Next week will probably be another shitshow.

Can't get that Toyota paid for stimulator soon enough.

Kind of curious if the issue with the high speed corners is they have not invested in flexy wings knowing they are going away in a couple months.

I think its many things and will speculate

New boss last year, found weakness in tire deg and fixed it.

New drivers this year when had veteran drivers last year squeezing every ounce of car out on track.

Looking ahead to next year and not spending this year.

New boss may be good at finding and fixing existing problems but not as good at creating his own ideas in new technology advances. Some people are good at fixing someone else's problems. But don’t create either. Hoping I’m wrong and its just looking at next year.

Hard to learn car limits with a rookie and new driver. Compared to last year they seem to be looking forward to next year and just winding the clock on this one.

Haas would’ve been 1-2.

I can't believe I support this team. The strategy was mind blowingly stupid. You're in last place, let's make another pit stop to match what everybody else is doing.

There ended up being enough laps between going green after Fred's wreck and the rain that it wouldn't have worked, but yes, stay on the strat as you're dead last anyway.

Komatsu said they lost a lot of points due to poor strat last year so they upgraded that dept.

He might want to have a word with them as they looked just as bad as ever.

They built a new chassis for this year, so they aren't just abandoning this season and working on '26.

On the flip side, Williams carried theirs over and seems to be working well so far.

Exactly. And who knows, if you shake up the front you might bunch up the field where they gamble on restart lap and cause any long caution. And then the race might end that way.

Also agree if you follow the leader you gain nothing. They had nothing to lose. And imagine the experience for drivers to be leading 1 & 2 in a race. Something they will never sniff normally.

Can anyone give a recap for how the race went?

Looks like everyone was a mile and a half behind Lando and Max. How competitive was Max to Lando? Would it have been within a second on a dry day?

Are those two just that much better than the rest? What happened to Piastri?

oh and I'll say it again, F this thread being anchored at bottom. Completely forgot it was here and didn't submit my picks for the year Admins should just unpin and let it rise and fall when people post.

Just to compare, this thread is currently at page 34

- The 2024 thread reached page 34 on Feb 28 last year, more than 2 weeks earlier than this year.

- The 2024 thread reached page 52 the evening after the first race of the season.

If they have a combo of Perez/Boatass/Ric/Herta it will be difficult.

I'll pull for the team while hating the drivers.

Last season did have Lewis Hamilton announce he was moving to Ferrari before the season started and then pre season testing was rocked with the Christian Horner scandal. Silly season started in the pre season
