Wow, Bortoleto, Bearman, and Colapinto have left their more experienced teammates behind.
Albon dead last.
Yuki just 0.163s behind Max, but out at Q1.

Even this weekend I keep hearing Antonelli is a future superstar, like people are trying to reassure themselves that it has to happen.
Meanwhile, fellow rookie Hadjar is now the lead Red Bull driver.

Good for Leclerc! And good for Aston Martin.
Spicy grid for tomorrow.

Crazy how they were down into the 1:14s in Q2 but slower in Q3

I'm actually layed over in Dulles right now flying into Budapest and couldn't see qualifying. What happened with Max? The results are... wonky...lol

He said he felt like he was driving on ice all day/weekend.

The least hyped rookies preseason are progressing at an impressive rate. It’s been fun to watch Hadjar and Bortoleto.

2nd easiest place to keep pole position. Let's see Leclerc convert it....

If you have a chance before the race starts, read the strategy guide, which also discusses last year's race. I remember now that last year I was fascinated by the strategy variations in the mid-field. I also remember Danny Ric started on mediums and was called into the pits way too early and his race got totally screwed by bad VCARB strategy yet again.
formula1.com/en/latest/article/strategy-guide-what-are-the-tactical-options-for-the-2025-hungarian-grand-prix
From the article:
1. The best race time is calculated to be a two-stop race using mediums and hards. A one-stop race is estimated to be 10 seconds slower.
2. Last year, the highest finishing one-stopper was Tsunoda in P9. The highest finishing driver who used a set of softs was Stroll in P10.
3. Going into qualy this year, Aston Martin, VCARB, Williams, and Tsunoda wanted to maximize the number of softs available to them, so they all sacrificed extra sets of medium and hard tires in practice. So these teams only have one set of mediums and one set of hards available for the race. If they do two-stoppers, they will have to use a set of softs.
4. Rain was expected Sunday morning, and if the track is reset, maybe the soft tires will provide a significant advantage at the start? Did it rain this morning?
