After Chris won this is newest non winning streaks. Bubba got a 3 year deal so he should win once before it expires. But he’s had the best equipment of this group in that timeline. Martin Jr next best equipment but his is less.

The fact that he can’t win in premier equipment is why I said firing him could absolutely could be justified. I stand by my statement: He has the chops, he doesn’t have the head and that goes beyond any non-racing stuff, and you can’t really break through in this sport unless you have both.

premier equipment
It's good equipment, but are we sure it's premier and not just Reddick and Kurt making it look that way? Reddick had RCR looking like they had their shite together before he left, and Kurt has also been able to elevate the team around him as well.

I think it’s premier equipment. I think people could win in that car.

I was relatively positive toward Bubba for a long time, even after the incident that got people so pissed off.

I am much less positive now and it’s 100% because of his performance on the track. It’s time for him to start showing some tangible results, not just flashes.

I wonder if he would benefit from him seeing a sports psychologist?

I'm with you. He definitely has the talent to be a consistent winner but it's upstairs that's holding him back

This is a message board so that’s literally all that’s happening here. It would be awfully quiet if people weren’t giving their opinions.

You're not wrong but there also comes a point where it becomes tired b/c he harps on it constantly.

Devils advocate… using Bubba to pay bills and Reddick to win races really isn’t the worst plan

I can get behind this theory.

You can debate Bubba's talent all day and if he has the killer instinct to win but he will be in the sport a long time because he's a sponsors dream. If a company is big on DEI and want to get nascar exposure it's easy to pick him and that team.

Which was the reason for what I said in the OP about him not going anywhere …

Sounds like it’s only for the rest of the season.

I’ve always thought that Hamlin would win a title before he retires but now i’m starting to question that. Going out in the first round would be a massive disappointment considering he’s one of about 4-5 drivers I think can win the whole thing this year.

It appears he and Truex have hit that wall. I’ve been watching since 97. And there’s a trend I’ve noticed. The “greats” have a bit of a resurgence followed by a significant decline.

Terry Labonte was the first one I noticed back in 2003-2004.
Ricky Rudd had a solid 2001-2002, but he hung around a little too long.
Rusty Wallace (although he may have retired too soon).

Fast forward to the last decade. Gordon, Stewart, Johnson. Harvick did too. I wonder if we are seeing the same out of Denny and Truex.

Yeah I don’t blame RWR. Corey’s been a dumpster fire all year.

Dale Jr. is racing in the Xfinity race tonight at Bristol. Note, remainder of the Xfinity Series schedule will be broadcast on The CW.

I’m going to watch. I don’t expect Jr to win but there are few opportunities remaining to watch him run at this level.

frick I don’t have CW. And the broadcast won’t come in on my antenna. Even the CW app won’t let you stream it until the next day.
