We will see, but I will own this one ... IMO there is absolutely zero chance, there is more a chance of me being named the new czar of Russia in a revived Romanov Dynasty than it happening, of them taking the win away from Dillon three days after the fact.

Oh I agree, one person who specifically called it that was the editor of Road and Track magazine (like it's on the front lines of NASCAR coverage LOL).

To follow up, in the Wallace and Elliott situations, you didn't have half the fan base hollering about it being the best finish in years and "what racing is all about."
It's like I said earlier, NASCAR is damned if they do here and damned if they don't.

I said the same thing immediately after the race Sunday night.
If for nothing else that they won't take a win away from RC.

So this is why they can’t take the win away and allow him in chase. I still say they could keep the win but penalize him for safety which would keep him out of chase.

Anyone else think they’re struggling with this, why it’s taking so long?
Again, for every person who’s pissed off about this, there’s another person who wants NASCAR to be this way every week. So NASCAR is in a bit of a pickle here.

Probably because they know the sport is no longer taken serious. Balancing short term gains vs being the top tier of motorsports again.

There’s no pickle. The last 2 guys who hooked someone and wrecked them were suspended.

I’ll repeat what I said to Awesome Sauce last night. When in 76 years has NASCAR been consistent?
The pickle is the other two suspensions didn’t involve going for the win on the last lap, nor did a healthy chunk of the fan base celebrate what happened and how it happened because they expect NASCAR finishes to be like that.
He may get parked. I think he deserves to parked. But I still think they are struggling with pulling the trigger on anything.

You have a clown car on a series run by clowns.
My guess is they are struggling what to do with Logano pit road. That was worse from a safety aspect since fans had no protective gear like drivers. And they suspended Chase for hooking so are struggling there. And do they take chase away and keep the win plus suspend?
As for your last lap comments. If they truly care about safety then what does last lap have to do with it? They boxed themselves in a corner. They benched the sports most popular driver for way less. They have no choice but to suspend him. Its the other stuff though, Logano burned tires at AD family. Look how close that baby was in Moms hands!!

Yep. When the checkered flag is out it is no holds barred.

RCR just tweeted a video of Dillon coming out of ominous looking smoke with the caption, “We’re not done yet.” You think they know something?

The only thing I think they got wrong was no one race suspension for the right hook, and I think Joey got off light. Personally think it should have been $75k, but other than that it seems about right.

So the guy making the least money(spotter) takes the biggest hit. So NASCAR.

2 things:
1. Austin should have been suspended 1 race. Chase was for less.
2. Logano should have been suspended 1 race. He put families lives in danger and almost got a mom carrying baby.
Rest is fine but double standard on suspensions which is not a good look.
