you guys may be clamoring for leas downforce and more hp but even Indycar discovered after going to a lighter downforce that the racing suffers

Nascar needs to make a safer version of the mid 90s cars

or

basically get a high downforce high HP package like GT3 or DTM pre 2022

No, neither of us mentioned less downforce. Just add HP and tires that wear faster. Thats it, all you need. Drivers will then have to actually drive. Strange concept, I know.

You got me there.

Disagree with this though. Street circuits just don’t do a lot for Americans. They need to be on more big flat tracks… Pocono, Michigan. Vegas maybe. I know Indy on mile and a half with banking is dangerous as shite tough.

id love to see both Pocono and MIS back

however Pocono has a bit of a stigma from 2015 and 2018 and I’m not sure the facility is safe enough- aeroscreen may alleviate that though

MIS would be great but scheduling could be an issue

I’d love to see them try Darlington and I think they’d get a big crowd

Kentucky , Atlanta and Charlotte would be cool too

If he is truly the racer he is made out to be he needs to be at Indy every year

I hope to see him try it a few more times, but obviously there is more to it than just showing up. He has to have a ride and there have to people/sponsors willing to put money into the effort. Sounds like he has that for next year, but who knows beyond that.

Amazing Larson missing those gears on the first lap of Indy put him so far behind the 8-ball. His car was plenty good enough to get it done. He's a little fellow that a lot of NASCAR guys like Wallace and Bush want to try and intimidate on the track, but the truth is he has been the best driver for several years now.

So did everyone enjoy the Hamlin team losing their minds about pit box etiquette? When it was 100% the fault of Hamlin's team.

If anyone missed it The 11 car was bitching and whining about Buescher parking with his right rear out forcing Hamlin to back up or making it hard to get out of box. But Buescher had a car in front of him making it hard to get in since Hamlin and the car in front were ahead in race so first to pit box.

So finally Hamlin's team realized they had an empty spot behind them (entrance road) and could park further back in their box, so they spent time measuring via tape and moved their marks back.

But thing is, they had another 4 feet to move back and never figured it out. What they were doing is working to keep the car within the box (including the back) but per rule only the back tires have to be in the box (in front the whole car has to be behind the line).

They had all this room to back up their spot and never even used it yet they spent whole race bitching about Buescher when it was 11 team who was stupid. It was like Keystone Cops lol.

Yeah that whole situation was Denny's fault and he came off as a bitch.

I'm probably the only one, but I think NASCAR guys who still show up at dirt tracks, Snowball, and the Chili Bowl is way cooler than Indy. Fun seeing those guys occasionally at Volusia.

Yeah that was strange.

Ready to see what happens at SHR. Going to be a lot of dominoes falling when that starts sorting itself out. Shaping up to be a memorable silly season.

It just seems like SHR lacks leadership from its owners. Tony seems totally focused on his NHRA team. Gene Haas doesn’t seem involved either. Apparently the main SHR executive who has been at the track this season is team president Joe Custer (Cole Custer’s dad).

If the owners aren’t interested, it seems like that is a sign that the team is either about to get smaller or dissolve completely.

I think they sell all 4 charters. And who knows, then Stewart might buy in as minority owner of 2 of the buying teams? It seems Haas and Stewart are not on same page.

Even though Tony is 100% into NHRA, his name still carries weight in Nascar and I’d find it hard to believe he’d give all that up.

Dirt racing is fun, but it's not Indy.

You're right, dirt racing isn't extremely overrated

The falloff they had was crazy. But maybe Harv and Rodney Childers together were kind of carrying the water for them for a while and they were always a mid-pack team.

So 4 charters for sale?

Probably going to be 4 two car teams turning into 3 car teams?

RFK
23XII
Trackhouse
Front Row

Berry and Childers to RFK
Who to 23XII?
Van Gisbergen to Cup
Gragson and Briscoe to Front Row

Preece left out in the cold.
