Wonder how much he brings in in sponsorships,
I've heard 20-40MM. No on truly knows though.
I wouldn't be surprised for Carlos Slim to back Pato to Cadillac now.

They should have cut Checo after Summer Break and put someone in the car to get familiar with it for next year.
Hell, once Max won the championship, he should have demanded Checo go and they bring in his support for 2025 and them start working together the last 2 races.

I still don’t understand how checo’s sponsorship money matters that much to Red Bull at the end of the day. The whole team is a sponsorship exercise by the energy drink company.
Everything is different now within the company and they’ve quit acting like they used to. Imagine if Albon or Gasly had as long of a leash as Perez did.
Has to be some contractual negotiations were not privy to or just a Helmut/Horner battle to cause them to act like this all of the sudden.

If you aren't serious about having two top drivers on the team, and the goal is to win WDC, then who is in second doesn't really matter. Other than running defense in a title run.
RBR would like the money and the WCC no doubt, but I think they have had different goals as of late.

It's been two years since Dietrich Mateschitz died. Probably has a lot to do with it. Him and Darth Helmut were tight. Mateschitz kept a tight inner circle.

While that’s cool for them I don’t understand why Ferrari is doing it. They’re in a title hunt and need Sainz in that car as much as possible this weekend.

By rule they have to run a rookie in the car for a certain number of practices per season. Ferrari probably has to fulfill this requirement yet.

Red Bull Racing showed an operating profit of only 3 million pounds on 300 million in after tax revenue in 2023 so money is tight.
Maybe Red Bull as team owner will be willing to pay off Checo but they are a business, not a billionaire throwing around extra cash. Red Bull the company should have a healthy net income but are private so recent financials aren't available.

We all could use their CPA.

I'm sure Red Bull's meals expense was sky high.

Interesting thread back in the day on why Red Bull owns a team
Not sure how the accounting is done, Red Bull Racing, Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Red Bull Powertrains all probably have their own budgets/expenses.

Because the company — which sells $7B+ of energy drinks a year — is a pure marketing firm (outsources all production).
I know this can be said for most branding/marketing, but are people really buying more Red Bull energy drinks because they have an F1 team?
Also, what happened to that alleged clause in Perez’s contract that gave the team an out if he fell below half of verstappen’s WDC point total?

I would assume in Mexico and Central America, their presence has ramped up thanks to Checo.

George is becoming more of a twat

I am here for George giving Max his best single Nico-style season next year. I want to see the darkness come out of him
Posted on 12/5/24 at 7:35 am to MississippiLebowski
So it’s obviously not great if max threatened to put him in the wall. But how am I supposed to take George seriously as a hard-arse if he’s out here using words like “whilst”
