With the salary cap they can probably cover their costs these days.

Limited wheel time for your new driver is key.

Quite a turnaround from those tractors we saw in Bahrain

Kind of a lot of money on the line to just switch drivers huh.
ocon is gone anyway and he has been dogshit lately. He says it's gasly front wing. That must be a damn fast front wing.

The irony is, next year, he's going to the team alpeen is currently battling for 6th

Pretty wild race. That last safety car restart was a good one.
Curious what happened with Perez.
Starting from P2 on the grid with the inside line into T1 seems pretty beneficial.

when was this?

ETA: Oh you weren't saying checo was p2. Yeah lotta tracks they should let the pioe winner decide. See senna-prost suzuka.

Checo was at the back on the restart and got spun around before the start line. He said something about losing drive but I'm not sure if that wasn't after the spin. The replays look like he just spun coming thru the last corner

Going to miss KMag and Hulk at haas vs Ocon. Hopefully Bearman is likable enough.

Talking about Verstappen getting demoted down to P2.

Excuse my random train of thoughts.

On his onboard it sounded like something popped or cut out and caused the spin. It was weird because it was before the safety car even ended

One race left to go. I was pulling for McLaren to upset Red Bull most of the season but now I think I would rather see Ferrari pull it out. Would put some extra pressure on Hamilton for sure going in to next season.

What are our message board predictions looking like?

Ocon was dominating Gasly prior to the sudden resurgence linked to whatever upgrades they did iirc. I know I read that somewhere in the past couple weeks.

That Lando penalty was ridiculous. I get a 10 second penalty to reinforce the safety, but making it a stop and go was just insane. Lando went on an incredible run after that just to grab a point.

I'd love to see Max win next week just to hit double digits again.

On the surface it’s feels harsh for the Norris penalty, but I’d like to here from someone on history, they tend to be pretty harsh on failing to slow for yellows

Just caught the race. Outside of a few exceptions, it was amateur hour up and down and off the grid.

Also, I hate this track. F1 and now WEC both suck on it.

Watching the replay, a couple of laps after Max reported Lando for not slowing down for the local yellow on the straight, Lando opened his wing in the DRS zone of the same straight. That was when Bottas was behind him and hit the mirror.

Lando gained another advantage there because Charles obeyed the local yellow and didn't open his wing. So Lando failed to the obey the yellow on two different laps and gained advantages both times.

Yeah, I guess I'd like to read the steward's report on it.

It's so clearly a motorcycle track. It's mostly large radius corners that wear out their necks but don't do anything for the racing. Top-level car series shouldn't come here.

But it's all about the money...

About impossible to pass. Sainz couldn't get around an Alpine after trying for 20 laps.

History isn't the best guide. At Zandvoort in 1973, the cars kept racing flat out while Roger Williamson burned to death underneath his car on the edge of the track
