Where in that is RedBull backing him That is Checo saying he is committed and sick of talking about it.

But in a way, I hope RB stays the course and Checo continues to Checo and they lose the Constructors to Mclaren.

Feels like lsu retaining Les miles in 2015. Ending will be sooner rather than later.

LOL, where he has done well? Let me take a quick look at some races from 2023 backhalf

Netherlands - 4th
Italy - 2nd
Singapore - 8th
Japan - DNF
Qatar - 10th
US - 5th (4th after DQ)
Mexico - DNF
Brazil - 4th
Vegas - 3rd
Abu - 4th

I mean, yeah, I guess, if you consider being in the fastest car on the track and averaging 5th place, not counting his 2 DNFs

Wow. I don't think anyone was expecting this. One reason might be that Danny just hasn't performed at the level Horner wanted him to. Danny isn't seen as an upgrade, or not enough of an upgrade to Perez.

I believe both Prediction A (no driver change) and Prediction B (Lawson replaces Danny for the rest of 2024) are still in play. Given the speculation around Danny, I wonder if they are going to say anything (like confirming him for the rest of 2024) or just stay silent on the second VCARB seat.

He was in first for 50 meters though before he found out the track turned and his car launched into the wall

I wonder how Pierre Gasly, Albon, and Nick Devries feel about Perez getting this much time in that seat.

Changed Ocon to Albon, for some reason I switch them up often.

They didn’t have massive $$$ behind them.

At this point checo is a pay driver and nothing more.

Tin foil hat applied;

RBR doesn't care about the constructors and would rather finish down a bit to get the additional tunnel time for 2026 and the new cars.

Only worried about the driver's title and they have Max for that.

Not tin foil at all. By keeping checo, it’s a blatant admission they don’t care about the WCC. Sucks for the employees, it’s what their bonuses are all tied to.

Great point on that.

Another plus for Williams. All the tunnel time.

I called out earlier that theres only like a 10m difference between 1st and 2nd in constructors.

If the Mexican $$$ to keep Checo in the seat is more than 10m, which I'd imagine it is, then financially, they don't give a shite.

That would be as dumb as keeping Checo. They essentially have a shite driver in the #2 seat and two VCARB drivers with no future in that seat. Makes no sense.

You mean Audi/Sauber?

I fully expect them to look like 2021 Haas next year.

You also have to account for all the money spent on fixing checos wrecked car
