Nascar has been terrible in 2023.
Way too many races where the leader is barely challenged if at all.

Race to race, I agree.
Does anybody follow that account on Twitter that tracks what the Winston Cup Standings would be? Like, the old points system.
This season would actually be really compelling if we were using the Winston Cup points. As of this week, Hamlin would lead Buescher by 9 points and 5 cars would be within 50 points which is nothing in the old system… Truex would be on the tail end of blowing a 200 point lead over the last 6 weeks.

Ty Gibbs right rear wheel looked like it was hovering across the track

I'm still having trouble figuring out the pit strategy for Truex today.
Qualified well, started well, yet everything I've seen since has sacrificed track position and gotten him stuck in traffic.

Bell's gonna run him down. Damn.

Elliot needs to drop back and block for Larson.

Bells gonna put him in the wall on the last lap for the win.

Larson wins, advances to Final Four

Holy frick those last two laps were intense. What was the split between them?

Thought Bell was gonna get him. Larson in the championship 4!

Man, good for Larson. I thought for sure Bell would get him with the ground he was making up.

Now Larson and his team gets to chill the next couple of races and focus all their efforts on getting their car ready for Phoenix
The last two years, the driver that won the opening race of the Round of 8 has went on to win the championship

I miss the Winston cup. Back then you were allowed to appreciate a season long championship. Then Matt Kenseth showed you can just top 5/10 it to death and only win a race. Brian France then said we need to change that.
That idiot is to blame.

This was just another snoozer. Leader couldn’t be caught much less passed.

Another week of many broken toe links. Add in faulty tires causing wrecks. And more parades.
I wonder if the rear air diffuser is hurting more than helping. If more turbulent air maybe the leader struggles more as cars get close?
All I know is nascsr has turned the sport onto IROC racing. Cars and rules too equal so no one can pass.
Lets not forget this race one year ago Bubba assualted an Asian on national TV and got barely a slap. He also pushed a track worker and got nothing. Glad the Asian won this year.

If Bell was able to come from that far down, I bet he wishes he started driving harder one lap earlier.
Because of faulty tires teams and drivers had to decide how hard to drive cars. So it wasn’t really about driving as much as willingness to risk tire blowouts if drove too hard. Larson was driving go avoid a blowout instead of racing Bell. It only got close on last lap because lapped cars took his line away.

What a circus nascar has become:

5. Penske statement
I wonder what other templates were not in specs at some point in year. Same people who do tear downs at nascar research where big penalties come from early in season. No integrity whatsoever.
