Explain the stage thing to me.
Races have 3 stages (Coke 600 has 4). There are stage points awarded to the top 10 finishers at the end of each of the first two stages (which are essentially extra points added onto the points they earn at the end of the race). A caution is thrown at the end of each stage (except on road courses where they just keep racing).

It's not Atlanta or Nascar's fault, but this race feels really ho-hum after last weekend's banger.

Fun finish to stage 1.

That was a hell of an end to the 1st stage.

Wow, what a mistake from the 5 team. After he spun, he immediately came to pit road, but they didn’t change the right front. They then did a lap, I guess to avoid getting lapped, and the right front tire came apart and destroyed that part of the car.

Rain looks to be 30-45 minutes from the track.

Yeah there is a nasty band heading east out of Central Alabama that has dropped 4 inches in a couple of hours in some spots around Sylacauga, etc.

And it’s about to get crazy …

54 should run over the 1.

I bet he will. The #1 cut him off twice.

I know the old school guys don’t like the new configuration, but this race has been very good. You can feel the angst amongst the drivers right now. So much shuffling

I love the new configuration.

Dale has spoken, just said this would be the track to show a new potential fan

Racin’ deal but looks like 7’s bad to my eyes.

Yeah hard to tell, but it wouldn’t shock me if the 7 came down. LaJoie is running out of talent, imo. My opinion of him as a driver took a downturn when he wasted his chance in the 9 car at Gateway.

It’s growing on me. For what it’s worth Atlanta has always been my favorite super speedway to watch a race in person.

That radar is ominous.

If my count is correct, I've been to 8 races at AMS. The last one in '21 on the last race on the old configuration.

It was close, like I said it was one of those racing deals that happens when you’re running an inch apart, but if we were going to court I think 7 would have been judged at fault.
