Kenseth

He was also the last driver to win the championship before the chase in 2003.

I always felt that he left the sport too soon like Carl Edwards did as well.

He also put Keselowski(who I like) in a headlock. He wanted all that Team Penske smoke.

Matt was a great guest this week on the DJD. I've always wondered how Dale felt losing Rookie of the year to Matt. It is a great episode if you haven't listened.

I thought it was odd how Gibbs tossed him for younger blood when he was winning races and competing in the Chase.

I got the feeling it was also about money and wanted Kenseth to take a pay cut and he told them to go pound sand.

One interesting aspect of the Quaker State 400 is a first for NASCAR—a variable pit road speed. Under green, drivers will be able to run up to 90 mph in the first two sectors of pit road, entering from Turn 3. From the third sector on, pit road speed drops to 45 mph.

Under caution, pit road speed is a constant 45 mph. In addition, one minute will be added to the Damaged Vehicle Policy clock for both the Cup and Xfinity Series. Cup teams will now have eight minutes to effect repairs. Xfinity teams will have seven minutes.

RCR’s Historic No. 29 Chevrolet to Lead the Field at Atlanta Motor Speedway Where Harvick Drove to First Cup Series Win in 2001

Before Kevin Harvick makes his final start at Atlanta Motor Speedway as a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver, an historic car from the earliest days of his Cup career will play a big role to start the race.

The No. 29 Chevrolet Harvick drove to his first victory in an unforgettable race at AMS in 2001 will return to the speedway on July 9 to lead the NASCAR Cup Series field prior to the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart. Richard Childress, who fielded the car and won a total of 23 NCS races as a car owner with Harvick from 2001-2013, will be behind the wheel of the historic ride for the commemorative laps.

I'll forever remember that day.

Dale was definitely present that day. I believe divine intervention was involved.

22 years ago tonight, Junior wins the Pepsi 400.

That was a special night, I still tear up watching it.

And nobody can tell me that divine intervention wasn't involved.

They were unstoppable for that 4 year stretch from 01-04. The Eury's knew how to setup a superspeedway car.

Just one more reason to say frick Teresa.

Saw some reports that NASCAR and Roger Penske are talking about a combined Cup/Indy Car weekend on a street course. Not necessarily Chicago. Thoughts? I wouldn’t mind it.

Gain bridge is sponsoring Spire in the vast majority of remaining races. I’m calling it now. Gainbridge is the beginning to Andretti Autosport buying Spire Motorsports.

Bob Pockrass pointed out on Twitter that NASCAR is having Richard Childress do a few practice laps in the 2001 Harvick car and ironically that will be more practice laps that the actual drivers/cars will get for the race.

Its the Gibbs way.
I laugh at him every time Logano wins a race.
