How could I forget? Everyone there celebrated. 
It was 2000. WM beat Curtis 26-7 after Shaw beat Evangel. I remember Evangel jumped on Curtis 28-0 in the first half the year they played with the whacky formation with 3-4 players spread out on each side. Ran their conventional offense in the second half and Curtis shut them down. Evangel held on 28-21.

That was probably their best overall team they’ve had tbh. And got blanked in the semis. Ouch. They were so mad they got Mr. Bitter kicked off the air shortly after that. I’d gladly take him back over the two yahoos they have now. Good Lord.

don't think their varsity has played Acadiana in the regular season/playoffs since 2010 so probably not.

I know Ponchatoula scheduled a home-and-home with Acadiana right after they eliminated our best team ever in 2014 (though now it’s a debate between them and 2021). Says a lot about STM that they refuse to schedule Acadiana despite being way closer.

2014 and 2021 Ponchatoula are arguably the 2 best 5A non-select teams since the split to not win the state title.
