I'm saying they both got more coverage than they sometimes deserved. They both got camera time when they were in 30th place, or were a lap down. Most drivers don't.
I made No Comment on their coverage if the race, in fact I didn't even see it.

I do appreciate how you immediately jump on every post I make in these threads. While you're chasing me around, I'm still waiting for you to tell me where the Pettys got all that money you keep saying they had.

Relax dude. This is a message board. Thoughts are conveyed, and I'm more a stream-of- consciousness guy so I'm gonna say what is directly on my mind at the time. Just how I am.

You're not wrong about the coverage that they both received, but IMO, you are underselling Junior's driving career. I will say that had he had Letarte in the middle.part of his career(the.last years w/DEI and first couple w/Rick) he'd of won a title and 10-15 more races. But 26 wins is nothing to sneeze at.

Have a good holiday and remember what tomorrow is about. Solemn rememberance.

That was pretty damn comical.

See...it went over the line. It isn't debatable.

Jr was driving the wheels off his cars until Sr died. It fked him up in the head, and he couldn’t recover. NASCAR died the day Dale died, a shell of itself at best

The fan whose car was struck by the flying wheel during the Indy 500 is going to get a new car from Penske. In a way it was kind of fortuitous that the car that was struck was a Chevrolet, since the Penske IndyCar team uses Chevy engines. Good marketing that Penske buys a new Chevy for an unlucky fan.

espn.com/racing/story/_/id/37768342/fan-vehicle-damaged-indianapolis-500-tire-get-new-car

quote:

The spokesperson told the Indianapolis Star on Wednesday that Penske Entertainment, which owns the IMS track and the IndyCar Series, would give Robin Matthews, a race fan from Indianapolis, a new car.

In the closing laps of Sunday's race, Kirkwood's car launched off the back of Felix Rosenqvist's after Rosenqvist hit the wall between Turns 1 and 2. Kirkwood's car flipped, and his tire went soaring over the fence and the corner of a grandstand where many fans were watching the race before landing in the parking lot, where it crushed the Chevrolet.

Matthews' car, which she calls "Snowball," had to be towed because of the damage caused from the crash. She was treated with a chance to kiss the yard of bricks, and IMS president J. Douglas Boles gave her a ride home.

When I saw the tire i thought is was going in to the stands. I thought I was going to see a few people killed. When it cleared I let out a deep breath. My wife asked what was wrong. When i replayed it she just stared. I doubt I'll get her to go to a race now.

The IndyCar Detroit race has moved from Belle Isle to downtown Detroit. F1 previously raced on the downtown Detroit streets in the 80s.

the-race.com/indycar/split-pitlane-ex-f1-site-all-about-indycars-new-detroit-race/

In the graphic, the red line is the new IndyCar street circuit. The blue line is the old F1 layout, which looks way cooler.

Here's evidence that the F1 circuit was cooler as it went along the Detroit River.

Those dark buildings look pretty ominous.

This course looks horrible. The Indy NXT is racing right now and there are so many bumps. Especially in some of the turns.

Alex Palou is on a roll. He won the Indy GP (road course race), then got pole for the Indy 500 and finished P4, and now has pole for the Detroit GP.

Scott McLaughlin has only finished P1 or P2 when starting on the front row, so hopefully we'll have a great race between these two.

Then there's Romain Grosjean, who has been fast on road/street courses this year. He is hungry for a win. Dixon and Newgarden are no slouches either.

Many drivers are saying the course is too tight and too short. And all the bumps means cars will be losing grip and crashing into each other and the walls. Could be Nashville-level chaos.

Starting Grid

1 Alex Palou (Honda)
2 Scott McLaughlin (Chevy)
3 Romain Grosjean (Honda)
4 Scott Dixon (Honda)
5 Josef Newgarden (Chevy)
6 Marcus Ericsson (Honda)

8 Simon Pagenaud (Honda)
9 Felix Rosenqvist (Chevy)
10 Pato O'Ward (Chevy)
11 Marcus Armstrong (Honda)
12 Kyle Kirkwood (Honda)
13 Alexander Rossi (Chevy)
14 Rinus.VeeKay (Chevy)
15 Conor Daly (Chevy)
16 Callum Ilott (Chevy)
17 Devlin Defrancesco (Honda)
18 Christian Lundgaard (Honda)
19 Benjamin Pedersen (Chevy)
20 Agustín Canapino (Chevy)
21 David Malukas (Honda)
22 Santino Ferrucci (Chevy)
23 Helio Castroneves (Honda)
24 Colton Herta (Honda)
25 Jack Harvey (Honda)

Lots for sure. At least two red flags.

The two-sided pit lane is a total trip. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Pato O'Ward is an arse. After the way he punted Dixon at Long Beach, he has a lot of nerve complaining about Ericsson.

Well that start went better than I expected, even though it resulted in a yellow.

BTW, why did they sing the Canadian anthem? Downtown Detroit is fully in the USA!
