How was an AT hanging all over the back of Carlos, but as soon as Piastri got ahead of the AT, the McLaren couldn’t hang and Carlos went off into the distance?

Piastri is a moving chicane right now.
These tires aren't going to last 20 laps tomorrow. They are shite now

Yes and gave it right back. You're too offline for turns 2 and 3 when you pass on the outside in 1.
Anyway, my point still stands, the reason the pole is on the outside is that is the racing line. Your argument, that the inside has the advantage in a passing situation, I agree 100% with, and I agree that the pole sitter should get the inside line. Again, I think it should be the pole sitter's choice which side to start on.

Pole sitter should be able to cut over and take the inside line if he wants it. Lando didn't want to.
Think this is going to be a shite race tomorrow.

Big points for AT today with Yuki...and Ricc almost stole 8th...they have been on a little roll recently..

Yuki with 3 points! He was on Leclerc's arse the whole way.
Not sure if AT has a chance to pass Williams with just a couple of races left.

Poor Lando, always the bridesmaid...

That was a pretty great sprint

Supoosedly the most upgraded car on the grid. Really has shown the last few races.

Williams 28 pts
AlphaTauri 19 pts
With poor qualifying in Brazil and just two more races after this, 9 pts is probably too big a gap to make up. Still, a late-season surge to finish P8 is a good finish.
Oh, I also just noticed that Yuki has passed two drivers in the WDC, getting by Hülkenberg and Bottas. He's now P14, behind Albon.

LFG Yuki!!!
Next season when that AT is basically a Red Bull spec car with the same Honda engine, it should be night and day more competitive

The right side is the clean racing line. But I always felt the pole sitter should have his choice of which side of the track to start, for just this situation.
The poll sitter does have the choice of either line.
ETA: Since F1 does a standing start and lines are painted, I have to assume the pole sitter does not have a choice. All series with rolling starts do give the pole sitter the option.
I always had the choice in SCCA racing.
