random, but Alfa Romeo joining Haas next year. - the current alfa romeo team (sauber) will be called sauber again instead of alfa romeo - haas will be called alfa romeo or alfa romeo haas starting next year - sauber will be called audi in 2026 once the audi engine is in the car

So is Haas leaving Ferrari? Trying to dechiper this outcome

Sounds like Haas just has a title sponsor and will still partner with Ferrari.

Alfa was splitting with Sauber soon anyway.

Flipped over to the Indy 500 and I don’t know if I’m alone in my thinking, but the cars are fricking atrocious compared to Formula 1.

The windshields are hideous looking.

No.

Sauber/Aldo Romeo is Ferrari powered and has been. Alfa doesn't make a PU.

The speedway packages always look meh.

500 miles of right foot to the floor. Testament to those engines to just sit on the redline for 5 hours.

They look better than the flip flop.

Testament to their training so their right foot doesn't cramp the frick up.

Indy and NASCAR are so boring. Drive in an oval for 2hrs.

Yeah F1 has its boring moments, but at least there’s some originality to the tracks and drivers skills.

My six year old watches F1 with me every weekend. 10 laps in to Indy she said "this race just isn't as exciting as the other one"

I know it’s beating a dead horse but just making Monaco a mandatory 2 stopper would make it so much for interesting. Hell even do mandatory 3 stops

Havent watched replay but what confused me about Alonso not going to inters, is I thought you would want to at least cover other's tires while in 2nd. Gambling on tires is something you do from 13th+ place.

10 laps in and you've already had two commercial breaks. I like Indy, but I can't do ovals unless it's in person.

commercial breaks.

This has been my biggest issue with IndyCar. The racing is great, but DAMN, the commercials are outrageous.

You got to be a little crazy to race in the Indy 500. Only a matter of time you can race it and not have a major crash on the wall

Yeah Alfa is a pure badging/sponsorship. It’s not a constructor. Audi will be a full works team.

Maybe Aston will expand more on their decision to go to mediums later in the week.

I agree, the plan to start on Hards was a really good idea, but they then tried an undercut from 9 seconds back.

If Ferrari had done that it would be the biggest story of the weekend.

it was a tough call. It was sprinkling in a couple of corners but no one knew how bad it would get. But Alo was in hards and should have made max stop first. But Lewis was flying on new tires so you don't want to give up too much and get undercut. Aston made the wrong decision as it turns out but it's not Ferrari level stupidity. He still finished second which is probably where he would have either way

Alonso blew it with that change to mediums

stupid gamble

I fast forwarded to lap 58 on the replay. Watched more of the intro than the race. Was hoping for someone to park it on the track so we could see a restart.

still grateful for an extraordinary quali yesterday
