Frick the avs and Claude Lemieux.
Nah, frick the Red Wings!
But really, cheers! This has been one of my favorite ESPN documentaries. I can’t say if it’s done the rivalry justice or not, but this has been great. Not sure anything really will ever do it justice.

If you’re not a wings fan I get it, but I can honestly say that I’ve never loved a player more than I love McCarty for smashing that POS in the face. It really is a great doc and it totally embodies the build up to that game. Lemieux calling Shanny a loser before the game just says it all. It was a powder keg waiting to blow.

My god the electricity in these games ….I miss 90’s NHL

Odd that Federov wasn’t in it.

He’s a recluse. Inn be have only seen him once or twice since he retired.

Oh, I was saying it in jest.
This was great. I’m glad ESPN finally did this.

Claude was a player you either loved or hated. Most hated him unless you were a Devils or Avs fan. He played the game physically and psychologically in order to get under your skin and create an advantage for his team. He called Shanahan a Loser to get in his head. I have no doubt if Detroit would have acquired LeMieux from NJ the Red Wings fans would be loving this dude. Just like Detroit fans praised Bill Lambeer and Dennis Rodman for being the “Bad Boys”

Man I get Chris Draper holding a grudge to this day, I do. But part of me says he’s got to let that go. It wasn’t a life altering or career altering injury. It was dirty, and devastating to that season. But it’s been over 20yrs.

Missed it driving to Tampa today. Pregame nap then LFG

I can’t believe I shook this guys fricking hand.

I agree 110% brother. Draper obviously still has resentments which is not healthy from a mental aspect. That shite is still eating at him 25 yrs later. I have no doubt if Draper were to accept Claude’s apology and bury the hatchet, 10,000 lbs of negative emotions would be lifted from his shoulders.
I have the utmost respect for LeMieux and McCarty for sitting down and doing this 30 for 30 story. Both are in their 50’s and realize life is to short to remain bitter

I want a game 7….. A top event in all of sports.
That it is. Of all sports there's nothing like the sustained intensity and suspense of a Stanley Cup Game 7 (same of all NHL Playoffs / the Final, playing for The Cup)
Game 6 will be insane enough.

Yeah, I’m rooting for a Game 7 here too. Go Lightning!

To be honest (and I go way back) -- I've never watched any NHL playoffs that weren't super intense and electric. Rangers-Devils playoff series, '95 (the Rangers-Messier Cup) was totally off the hook.
Of all sports, it is NHL hockey that requires squeezing every bit of will and high octane energy from players (and by osmosis WE feel it); The teams don't even have to necessarily be "yours".

I'm pulling for the Avs, but I'm anticipating insane energy and heroics from both sides.

Avs -115, Lightning -105 at most books.

Did Lemieux ever apologize?

Anyone who dogs hockey is a moron. I’m bummed the season is almost over. What a great postseason.

How long until the pick drops, I thought it was going to start and I’m just staring at the app in a daze?

They're taking the ice now. Just a couple of minutes away.
