Chastain left all his fricks on the backstretch and let his huge balls hang out.
NASCAR will undoubtedly ban such actions because it is exciting and creates interest in the sport.

I have been watching NASCAR since 1994, at least as I can remember, and that is the single craziest thing I have ever seen. Been watching all kinds of different angles and listening to other radios all day today. That was ... incredible.
It was an extremely narrow set of circumstances that could lead to this and it worked. Just amazing.

Anyone have mixed feelings about the downvoter?
Admire the dedication?
On the other hand, what sort of loser has the energy to do this? 5100 and counting. Haha!

I need to watch the video of this incident.

As someone who only had a ride because of his last name KP should know. And that's not a dig towards KP.
Kyle is good in this role.

but I bet a rule is made to keep that from happening again.
That pussy Joey Logano was pleading for Nascar to implement rules to prevent copycats. They decided not to.
Yahoo Sports - NASCAR won't add a rule to prevent a Ross Chastain copycat move during Phoenix championship races

It wouldn't work at Phoenix, so why bother.
I bet they will have a rule for next year.

Is this move now called the "Chastain Rim Job"?
LOL! Good one there. Chastain admitted he practiced the move playing NASCAR 2005 on the Gamecube with his brother.
quote:
The sight of Chastain's car riding the wall at warp speed was so spectacular that it almost didn't look real, instead looking like something out of a modded and glitched video game. And speaking on pit road afterwards, Chastain confirmed that was exactly where it came from.
"Well, I played a lot of NASCAR 2005 on the Gamecube with (brother) Chad growing up, and you could get away with it," Chastain told NBC Sports. "I never knew if it would actually work, and I did that when I was eight years old.

We all thought that they would implement a rule this year to prevent any more "Chastaning". Now that they haven't(correctly) the goalposts are being moved to "next year."
Let's give them their props and move on.

What part of "it won't work at Phoenix" do you not understand?
No need for them to rush a rule in as there is zero need for one at the next race.

I haven't really kept up with Owners Championship's since the Chase format started. Why did Elliott get eliminated from the Owner's Championship even when he advanced?
How do they determine that now? Is it best finishing position in every round?

I mean, they cut thru infield at final race so are they gonna make them stay above white line and paint it yellow? Nope, only at SS tracks. No need to make a rule.
Now that the cats out of the bag a driver in front could slide up to wall to block it. And driver on wall would likely wreck if they tried to turn down. Option is push car ahead by slamming them or slow down. I think this is a one of. Spotters woukd warn drivers in advance so it self polices.
Hats off to Chastain for pulling it off. At any time his wheel could have caught wall and wrecked him or broken and same thing. Any gate openings at tracks would prevent it.
He got lucky yet took the risk and it paid off. Like winning lotto it won’t happen again. No need to create a rule which could hurt innocent drivers brushing wall or pushed into wall. Once you make a rule then you have to make more and more rules to fix loopholes. Look at plate racing and passing rule below line was sketchy at first. And ruled differently too.
Do nothing and enjoy the press it got you. Make a rule and you lose all that momentum gained, as fans would hate a rule. As is newer fans might think it could happen again so nascar will grow some even tho long time fans know it was one of.

Only counter argument I would make is that he was going 50mph faster than the field.
