This seems really stupid to me. Do fans really care which fatass boss wins?

Maybe they do?

Only counter argument I would make is that he was going 50mph faster than the field.

My counter to your counter is if driver ahead needed points he would move up and block it. Great chance car in wall would wreck if they tried to turn down to avoid plus there would likely be other cars in middle lane. Meaning wall driver would have to slow down.

I do not want more rules. Let the drivers police this themselves.

I guess I’m assuming if one guy is doing 85 and the other is doing 135, he wouldn’t have time to react without wrecking himself. And the guy going fast is plastered to the wall and probably can’t turn down.

Was not suggesting otherwise.

One thing that hasn't been talked about much with the Chastain thing and whether or not NASCAR will make a rule against it is the fact that a section of the wall that he rode is the crossover gate. If that thing had buckled just a little bit, we could have hit the end of a wall and it would have been a catastrophe (see Mike Harmon's crash at Bristol). I loved the move and am not against it, but there was certainly a risk of a bad outcome there. I think that will be a heavy consideration by NASCAR when determining a possible rule change.

I think this was a great event for NASCAR. It has been a mainstream sports story.

Kyle Petty was employed by people he was not related to. Will young Gibbs be able to say the same?

Menards is heading to JRM in 2023. That’s a big sponsor pickup.

I hope JRM brings this scheme back for a throwback:

“I just don’t like him. I’m speaking what everybody doesn’t want to say.”

“I’m sick and tired of the ‘I’m sorry and I’m trying to learn’ deal. It’s been two years.”

“He doesn’t care. He lives in fantasy land.”

Good catch. I forgot about Felix Sebates giving Kyle his start. Petty later bought into the operation.

Sabates was well after his start.

He ran for Petty Ent. from '79 to '84 and the Wood Brothers '85-'88. He had a part time ride with Sabco in '89.
