And I think him starting on the outside was him sticking to that philosophy, even if it cost him the win.

Yep. Chase is the same way. Winning and frick everything else. And when those two are battling for the win, this will happen. I respect it TBH. And I'm sure deep down Gordon and Hendrick do, also. But they also need them not to be at each others' throats going into the playoffs and costing both of them a shot at the title and ultimately hurting the team in the long run.
But they are both pissed right now.
