It should be noted that Mag got his first pole in fewer races than Perez.
And he didn't need a Red Bull to do it.

Max has made it very clear he’s 1 and whoever else is 2 and if you don’t do everything to fill that role than he doesn’t care.

And? He was racing for a literally meaningless 5th place that he didn’t even get.
How many times have we heard him say something along the lines of ‘thanks to checo, couldn’t have done it without him, great teammate’ the last 2 years? It’s been multiple.
He had an opportunity to repay that a little bit at quite literally no expense, and that’s his response?
