Alpha Tauri’s breaks are failing them in Q1.
Goatifi with a 5 place penalty grid. Guess he will start P25.

Max almost destroyed Norris.
Norris might need to try dirt track racing.

Japanese fans look like fun. I would love to watch a race there.

Max got the reprimand for that. Seems like a just penalty. Could have been really bad.

Honda has still been maintaining the PU’s,but there was no branding or public acknowledgment. They are talking about Red Bull powertrains doing the ICE in the future and Honda working on the hybrid side. I hope they stay in, the are good partners for RBR.

Some of the talk has been about change in CEO/Upper management at Honda. They inherited the plan to leave F1 so kind of went with it.
Electrification, whether fully or hybrid, is what all manufacturers see as the future and Honda wants to be part of that. Not many other series give that opportunity.

Just now watching events from Suzuka weekend. Im surprised at the lack of white and Tsunoda support in the stands. A bunch of Vettel support and thanks. It goes to show how established F1 is in Japan.
I even saw a "Guenther will you marry me" sign from a cute Japanese girl.
Eta maybe not that cute

I sorta wonder why Honda is in racing at all considering their bland vehicle lineup.

Albon will miss Latifi.
I agree, it will be similar to Mick missing Mazepin this year.

I get where you're coming from. Nissan has had the Z for decades. Toyota had the Supra for a long time. Subaru has the WRX and now the BRZ. Honda has the low-volume NSX but not a mainstream sporty car similar to the Z. The awesome S2000 would be a great showcase car if they would keep a sporty car like that consistently in the lineup. Their devotion to FWD is pretty annoying too, especially with the Acuras. They don't have an equivalent to the RWD German sports sedans. Honda just thinks different. The Civic Type R is a true high-performance sports car that happens to have FWD. My problem with the Type R is not the FWD, but styling that is not going to appeal to a mature adult.
However, Honda has been a hardcore racing company for decades, and their production vehicles are famous for plenty of innovations, most famously things like CVCC, VTEC, four-wheel steering, the first hybrid (Insight came before the Prius), etc. Presumably a lot of stuff has trickled down from racing.
Their history with motorcycles is even more interesting:
The six-cylinder CBX
The 1990 CBR250RR that revved up to 20,000 RPM!
The '82/'83 CX500/650 Turbo!
The oval cylinder NR750!
Enzo Ferrari considered Ferrari to be a racing company and had to be convinced to produce street cars, which he then realized could be a source of extra revenue for racing. Honda happens to be both, a serious racing company and a serious street car company. They could produce nothing but econoboxes and it would still make sense to me.
Can you tell Honda is my favorite car/motorcycle company?

When you said heel toe I didn’t have to watch to know it was Senna.

Well I had decided I was going to stay up to watch the race. Wanted to see max win the championship live. But now the weather looks so bad, there is concern about even getting the race in.

Hmm. I too had debated staying up. I guess I'll check in about 11 and see what the consensus is.

Gotta appreciate that because if F1 I could break news that North Korea launched a suspected ballistic missile
F1 is more about missile tracking than racing these days
