An impressive innovation by Aston Martin that found a grey area in the rules!
The surface of the 2022 wings must be over a minimum curvature radius, so they invented this strange shape to create a rule-abiding endplate!
Who will copy it first?
Should add a lot of load to the rear.

?? | Guenther Steiner on Haas's "White Ferrari":
"I expect to be fast. If somebody says we copy, then why should we copy Williams?
I mean, no disrespect to Williams... if you copy something, you copy the best."
Steiner has no fricks to give.
*In that view from the rear shown above it does look a bit more Ferrari than some of the other pics.

?? | Guenther Steiner's brutally honest response on Haas copying Ferrari:
"We have the same engine as Ferrari, same gearbox, and the same suspension. Why would we copy anything else?"
That's what I've been thinking all along.

So flood emergency tomorrow…. Talking about quali not taking place.
So they just take the avg best practice times to set the grid if not? That’s what it sounded like.

Didnt this happen at another race last year? They used the best times from FP3 iirc. my memory is bad.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think it goes…
If no quali FP3 sets the grid
If no FP3 then FP2 sets the grid
Etc etc

Don’t remember that last year, but I’m getting old, so maybe.

Now I remember, it happened at Suzuka 2019 in Japan. There was a typhoon on Saturday, so FP3 and qualifying were cancelled and qualifying was held Sunday morning before the race.

Looks pretty dry from watch I am watching on tv.

This is likely what will happen. The teams usually get a say in it, and Liberty will be pushing it hard. Maybe they back the race up an hour or two, but that probably screws with TV contracts.
They have a full slate with F2/F3/W all running there this weekend as well.

Looked like they could use the rain in pics comparing green grass last year and brown fields this year.

Checo sneezing three times while the radio was on in FP1, and his race engineer saying, "Bless you," all while traveling at high speeds, was the funniest radio moment that's aired on TV since Bottas with his "to whom it may concern..." message.

Probably are trying to sign a sponsorship and are out there winning the FP Grand Prix with hero runs.

quote:We'll see. Haas has a tendency of running a little slow in practice as far as I can tell. They were slow all last weekend until KMag put it in Q3. Then he jumped from P20 to P12 in like two laps. I have a feeling the pace is there.

That view of the Ferrari reminds me of those old plastic kiddie pools from the Walmarts.
