Some reports are that things got really heated over steward and race direction consistency.

Can't imagine Albon today will help things.

Going to be interesting the analysis and back and forth over Albon getting 5 seconds and Per/Lec/Ham/Ver avoiding penalty last week.

Especially because you don't take the apex in that turn and usually go wide.

Vettel got a 25k suspended fine for leaving the drivers meeting early.

Sounds like he voiced his opinion on the shitty stewardship as well.

Still waiting to hear about the 7 that had coms with the wall during the second formation lap.

*I think that rule is dumb. Especially on a second lap.

@ChrisMedlandF1

DECISION: All drivers cleared over formation lap messages. Stewards deem the messages were permitted #F1 #AustrianGP

Allegedly him and Alonso were the leaders. And there was a large contigent backing them.

The comms rule maybe should have some limits, but what is alleged is that pit wall told the drivers to "use the pit limiter" when leaving the grid for the 1st lap. That is crap to get a penalty over.

Did Gasly do the same thing on the sprint start as he did at Silverstone start?

First year watching F1. Is Hamilton ever not a bitch on the radio?

Every single driver bitches on the radio. You just get to hear more of Hamilton because they cover him more. Go watch the F1 radio rewind videos on YouTube after every race. Every single driver is the same. It's only the politards here that single out Lewis but give a pass to Max and everyone else.

I will say post races after the beginning of the season Lewis has done a great job handling the media.

Much more calm awe shucks great team work to improve etc. versus beginning of the season where he was utterly down and in a bad spot head wise.

Honestly this season has made me like him more, and I enjoy max driving since I pull for Redbull.

I also, like Sainz and Chuck. Not many drivers I don’t like in the grid except maybe Stroll because he looks and sounds like a douche who’s dad paid his way to F1

Edit: honestly the folks I like the least is the FIA and stewards for never enforcing the rules the same way week in and week out. If they did I believe we would have less bitching from drivers.

Max sounds like a bitch on the radio. Saying that, he doesn't have an ongoing convo with his engineer. I watched his in car for his battle with Mick and he didn't say much of anything the entire time.

I listen to Mag's in car most races and he actually says very little. Not being a fanboi, he seriously doesn't say shite. Usually doesn't even respond to the team unless the ask him a specific question.

Been meaning to listen to Yuki to see just how much he melts down every race.

Overall, the drivers don't talk on the radio as much as one might think. Sky always puts up the spicy bits, but overall there isn't much talking going on. Usually jyst the engineer saying "Soc 6 when you can", time to cars gaining or to car ahead, etc.

I've always wondered how much or what type of info is said offline, or off the public channels.

Not sure what governs the use of the alt channel, but it has been mentioned in the past.

No, he did the same thing on the Spring that George did at Silverstone.

How do you listen to individual drivers during the race? Also can you listen to all of their communications if you select a particular driver? I have the official F1 TV subscription and I typically watch the races on my iPad. Does the app allow me to follow along with a particular driver, or do you have some other source or app that you use?

On the right side of the screen there is a steering wheel (think it is at the bottom). You can click the steering wheel then the driver.

You can watch the replay and the cameras will stay in sync with each other so you can switch between views.

I don't use the app, I watch on my laptop, but would be surprised if you can't go to the driver cams with it.

Just select the driver cam you want and the coms are there.
