Dang, he's bounding around in the car like I do when a real banger comes on.

I don’t see how they can race an entire race with that bouncing. That will have to take a toll on men and equipment.

I haven't been able to watch all testing/offseason/this thread, but at some point this has to be a safety issue when fighting for position heading into T1 on any track. The back stretch of the MiamiGP is going to be one of the longest straights all season and is less than 2 months away.

They can easily solve the problem, it just means going a little slower and increasing the ride height.
FIA already caved to the higher weight, they shouldn't cave to the suspension damper solutions.

I am all for active errthing but that isn't an equitable solution at this point in the season.
As long as there is no serious safety issue the drivers will suck it up, that is what they do. I would imagine in the back of everyone's head is when that serious issue arrives (bumpy entrance to a very high speed turn) FIA/F1 will have to intervene and likely through a ride height limit. The teams that have porpoising better under control will get hit hardest. I think this is the angle the heavy porpoise teams have in mind as Machiavellian as it is.
I think the best solution is to allow an active aero solution in the DRS zones regardless of whether you are within 1 second. Just allow spoiler holes in the floor that are normally covered then in the DRS zone allow them to be open. I see it as a perfect solution. Ends proposing, reduces drag on the long straights, and is a "simple" implementation.

:cough: :cough: COTA
But yeah, I'm all about active aero being allowed. I've always loved that concept.
Here is an onboard of Gasly: LINK Doesn't look as bad on the on-board, but still a little bumpy.
But this view of Hamilton looks bumpy as frick

It can be a simple and elegant solution with the certain restrictions (size and number of holes?)
In my opinion, the reality is that F1 needs more innovation and less retrictive rules. That is something that has bugged me for some time now. The spirit of true prototype racing is being lost, if it hasn't been already. I'm saying that while being all for an even playing field and driver safety.
We all know that once a team truly figures this out, their solution will be blasted across every form of media covering the sport. I'm in the camp that it'll sort itself out. Growing pains accepted until it's a legitimate hazard to safety, or the on track product is too terrible to ignore... and idk if we're there yet.

IMO, the cost cap being in place could allow for a more open formula. Like, you have $140mm - let's see you build the fastest and safest car with that amount of money. Basically Junkyard Wars F1

Would be fricking awesome to see... on track racing would probably suffer, but it would still be awesome to see what teams came up with

DTS Season 4
In the intro, Gunther to daddy Maz “I guess you’re the sponsor”.
Welp…
Also hearing everyone, even head of the Barhrain GP saying “kick Mercs arse” to RB.

Carlos with the fastest time today?
What does it all mean??

It means Carlos is the best driver in the world. I knew it.
Even as WDC, Tom would still get his name wrong.

Nothing.
Most likely to be bagging the most: Merc because that is their MO.
Most likely to be bagging the least: Ferrari again that is their MO.
If you want to go a little more granular you can look at each drivers green sectors and add them up and look at the trap speeds as well but again it means nothing until next Saturday afternoon. Expect teams in particular RBR to come with some new bits and pieces tomorrow and Williams will probably have 4-5 new floors. I wouldn't be surprised if Merc is sandbagging more than usual since they don't want to rachet up attention on their zeropods and mirrors.

Nice to see Ferrari back in the mix even if it's just testing

McLaren announces Daniel Ricciardo has now tested positive for COVID-19. He’ll isolate in line with local guidelines, and should be released in time to race next week #F1

Merc is sandbagging hard, Sainz made a comment yesterday calling them out saying “we can see what they are doing on the GPS” (presumably a lot of lifting and coasting)

By 2020 rules everyone in the solidarity with Ukraine pic would have had to isolate.
