There was nothing Sainz could do there, oy way I could see him get a penalty would be if the yellow was already out before the right turn after the hairpin.

Yellow was too late. I don't see how there could be a penalty

Don't their steering wheels normally light up yellow as well? Or am I making that up. His wheel does nothing.

So, Perez causes the red flag. Ends up in front of Max, who is now three spots behind Leclerc.

Is Perez going to be asked to do Barrichello things really early in the race?

Perez might be at the back depending on damage. That rear and front are messed up.

Well, we still have pit lane and at least someone is going to attempt a daring pass once the frustration levels hit a certain level. It happens every year.

For many years, there was a crash in the first turn of the race. I want to say this went on for over a decade until they changed the start. Still, lap 1 on this track will be a wild ride.

Agreed. Is sounds like he let off from the time he saw the yellow. Just nowhere to go once he turned in. Tried to dodge then lost the backend.

What also sucks is that he started to press the gas about a split second before the yellow popped up then he has to stop immediately.

Cool, it could be a big deal for Sainz though, his next incident lands him a 10 spot grid penalty. That's why it's being discussed. If the FIA reprimand him again, its 10 spots back tomorrow.

Some faster cars are pinned further back as well with how the sessions went.

I just watched the Sky Sports video coverage again. They were showing Chuck's last lap and you can see Checo spinning in the last second of one of their shots. It took the announcers about 7 seconds to mention it.

I'm getting ready to post some images taken by Mr. B and me last weekend. Do I need to do anything to keep the images from filling your entire screens?

Monaco is the most boring race every year BY FAR. The only thing worth watching is qualifying.

These cars are way too big for the circuit, and have been for many years.

The history of the Monaco GP speaks for itself. Senna's lap, et cetera. But I won't miss it when it's gone.

BTW, Russell is a future world champion. We all saw it when he was qualifying the worst car on the grid so well (Mr. Saturday).

What sold me on Russell was his race in the Merc filling in for Bottas. He and Leclerc are the future of the pinnacle of motorsport. We'll get an American F1 driver soon, I hope.
