Love that he picks and chooses which countries he wants to criticize while on their doorstep.

Lewis is such a knob, this is one of the reasons I find him unlikeable.
He's quick to open his mouth on US happenings, this SCOTUS decision, BLM, he wanted to kneel during the US anthem a couple years ago, etc. Yet he surely shuts up when he's in China/Saudi/etc.

Well now the goal posts are moving. Previous post was saying he won't say a word about Saudi but when I point out he has several times it's now he won't put his money where his mouth is. If he didn't race in Saudi the narrative would then move again to shut up and drive probably. I hate defending Lewis... I don't even like him. I actually prefer athletes to stay out of all politics no matter what country. For this though Lewis is at least mostly consistent.

Same here, I'm somewhat familiar with that area. There's got to be a way.
I've tried every angle to get tickets. I have a close friend that manages the hotel where the Alpine Team and Pirelli Tire folks staying. They are saying no tickets or swag of any type.
I'd spring for the cheap seats, but I can't find anybody else that wants to blow a grand on tickets not to mention parking and other incidental stuff.
Looks like I'll be spending another weekend at Sebring International.
BTW Obtuse, F1 never ran at Belle Isle. F1 raced downtown past Cobo Hall and the Renaissance Center its entire life, 1982 to 1987. Indy Car races on Belle Isle.

I don't care about his going/not going. What I do care about is interjecting himself into matters/politics that don't concern him while sitting on our doorstep, then heading off to Saudi or China or other locations with even worse humanitarian issues and not saying a peep while in country. Sure we have issues but those are relatively minor in the grand scheme of things.
Don't even get me started on the whole him wanting everyone to curb fossil fuel usage/climate change nonsense while being a race car driver jet setting around the globe, owning boats/super cars, and yet I'm the a-hole that's hurting the planet.
Seb too can kiss my arse in that regard, sporting his stupid "2060 Miami Grand Prix: The First Underwater Grand Prix" last night.
