Will be real funny when we don’t trade Gallo or Gibson and let Gibson go for a PTBNL and Gallo walk in FA.

The A’s are on the verge of acquiring left-handed reliever Andrew Chafin from the Cubs, pending a review of medical records.

@Feinsand

first reported a trade involving Chafin was close.

@JonHeyman
Nats message to other teams: Everyone but Juan Soto is available. The reason Trea Turner is not included with Soto is the team has been unable to lock him up with their past attempts.
@chelsea_janes
reports lots of interest in TT.

Its Heyman so..

Trevor Story just got hit by a pitch in the hand and was in serious pain. He was able to stay in the game for now...could be something to watch.

The A’s have made their first upgrade of deadline season, acquiring veteran left-handed reliever Andrew Chafin from the Cubs in exchange for minor league outfielder Greg Deichmann and minor league right-hander Daniel Palencia, per a club announcement.
Yankees apparently made an offer for Story, which is just dumb imo but whatever. Yankees should be selling Britton, Chapman, Voit, Montgomery, German, Green, and Sanchez

 If Scherzer is to waive his no-trade clause, the right-hander “strongly prefers the West Coast,” a source tells MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.  This would naturally favor the Giants, Padres, and Dodgers, while such AL West clubs as the Angels, Athletics, or Mariners couldn’t be ruled out.

The Dodgers will get him. Because why wouldn't they? Don't most rosters have 4 former MVPs and 4 former Cy Young winners?
