Jewett knows what he’s doing. Tulane fans are obnoxious.

1. I’m just jimmy rustlin’. Lighten up.

2. He’s won about 40 of the last 50 games. I think they continue this roll they are on

37-13, it’s good no doubt but he was below .500 prior. So far they have avoided playing against any good teams in the current win streak. We’ll learn a lot when they go to ECU next weekend

Tech wins 6-1 over MTSU for 4-game weekend sweep, 10 road wins in a row, and should be moving back into the top 20 RPI.

Tulane hasn't made the tournament since he's been there.

It’s been a tough few years but if Tulane keeps sweeping and taking 3/4 from everyone I can’t complain about the guy

Same. His record over the last 50 games is tremendous.

Still pissed at Tech for dropping those two games to crap arse Marshall.

Seriously, the one guy with the deep loud voice got a warning in one of the games against Wichita State.

The sweep of MTSU was a very nice rebound. Gotta keep the pedal on the gas to make people forget about that Marshall series though. Another sweep against FIU would certainly help, and maybe even throw in a midweek win at LSU. Winning at LSU would be pretty tough though, considering CUSA is forcing everyone to play 4 games over the weekends. I suppose Tech could use Friday's starter on Tuesday against LSU, but then they'd probably be forced to pitch him later in the following series against UTSA. Conference play has to take priority at this point, but a win over LSU would look nice on the resume. They're obviously down this year, but their RPI is still high enough to warrant respect from the "powers that be" choosing the regional host sites.

I hope that LSU game gets cancelled. We are already thin at pitching and the four game conference series is brutal on our staff.

That game will end up hurting us more than a win could help us
Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing.

On the other hand, just playing it will boost Tech's RPI a few notches.

If the game gets cancelled by mutual agreement, I'm ok with that. LSU lost Jaden Hill for the remainder of the season so that put a squeeze on their starting pitching and Tech playing 4 game conference series does the same to them. Tech is not going to use up its bullpen to get an OOC win at the cost of a conference win and possible regional hosting situation. If the game is played, it may be a 20-19 type of game with both teams reaching way back into their pitching staffs looking for arms to throw. Just my $.02.

so bump...

not really Louisiana related unless LSU or Tech host a regional, but i was looking at standings and noticed that 7 of 8 Ivy League teams didn't play this season. The only one that did was Penn and they're 6-8.

They played 3 against Villanova, 2 against Delaware, and will end up with 10 (!) against LaSalle after a midweek game this week. May they be the easiest 4 seed ever?

Also I noticed 30-1 Fairfield's (located in CT) RPI is #6. I'll be damned if one of the regionals goes to the Northeast for them...

where LA teams stand

LSU 9-15 SEC, 29-18, 23 RPI, 11-0 against state schools
Louisiana Tech 19-7 CUSA, 33-12, 25 RPI, 11-3 LA
Tulane 14-4 AAC, 25-16, 55 RPI, 3-6 LA
Southeastern 20-11 Southland, 28-16, 69 RPI, 6-7 LA
ULL 9-9 Sun Belt, 25-20, 105 RPI, 10-4 LA
ULM 9-12 Sun Belt, 22-22, 130 RPI, 9-10 LA
Northwestern 19-13 Southland, 24-21, 159 RPI, 8-2 LA
UNO 21-14 Southland, 26-21, 161 RPI, 9-7 LA
McNeese 15-16 Southland, 21-26, 181 RPI, 7-12 LA
Nicholls 14-17, 19-27, 235 RPI, 2-12 LA
Southern 12-11 SWAC, 14-27, 277 RPI, 5-13 LA
Grambling 12-11 SWAC, 15-24, 282 RPI, 3-6 LA

Tulane dropped the first two games to East Carolina but came back to win the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader. Going for the series split today which I would definitely take on the road against a top 15 team

Louisiana Tech’s double header gets cancelled. They’ll be fully stocked going into Tuesday’s midweek against LSU

Tech’s Sunday double-header is now rained out. The weather has screwed them this weekend. Ruined the first game and has cancelled the last two. It will likely hurt the ranking a bit and the conference standings. USM winning today will put them in first in the West.

Next game vs LSU.
