Barring a miraculous comeback, Tulane is about to take a 3/4 series loss. Could have been a 4 game sweep if not for late inning heroics last night

Definitely a reality check. We’re really not that good, the AAC is just trash

Correct. Tulane likely out of the NCAAs unless they win the American regular season or conference tourney.

Jewett should be fired, if that's the case.

Sadly... we all know he won’t be. Tulane has 8 games left in the season, all against crap competition. They probably win 6 or 7 of those to finish with a decent record and secure a 6th year for Jewett. Then of course we’ll get bounced in the conference tournament and sit at home again

I can't imagine the committee will allow three conference usa schools to host so we are looking at a battle between LA Tech, Southern Miss and Charlotte for two spots over the final three weeks of the season.

Hotels will hurt Tech in this scenario. Tech is the most deserving, but Charlotte probably gets the nod due to sheer size of the area. Hope not. I will be at Tech if they do host.

I'm sure Baseball America will lobby for Charlotte to host as well since they're local to there.

Regionals are capped at 50% attendance and Ruston doesn’t have as much of a hotel shortage as it used to. Those two together means I don’t think it will be an issue.

Southern Miss is probably the odd man out today with Tech holding a 5-3 lead in the season series.

This also doesn’t take into account the tornado adversity story and Tech having the nicest facility of the three schools

7-1 would put Tulane at 21-6 in the AAC with a net in the mid to upper 40s. If they get to the title game and lose to ECU, that would be 34-19 for the year, and one of the last bids in the field.

There is ZERO margin for error, however.

It's not like the hotels on 20 in WM aren't 30 minutes from Ruston.

Louisiana Tech’s double header gets cancelled. They’ll be fully stocked going into Tuesday’s midweek against LSU
They were stupid for pulling Whorff. I knew the game was lost from that point on. It really makes no sense. He was fresh, pitching very well, and he doesn't have to pitch again until Sunday! I don't know WTF Tech's coach insists on using some of that garbage in the bullpen.

He's treated LSU like a midweek game both times this year and LSU has exploded for 16 runs both games.

Solid midweek win for #LSU. Tigers need some W’s in conference play, beginning this weekend against ‘Bama.

FINAL (7) | LSU 16, #14 LA Tech 8

Tonight's game has been called in the seventh after thunderstorms have entered the area. The Bulldogs will return home on Friday to host UTSA for a four-game series.

Does this knock LaTech out of hosting?

Nope.

Relax. Ignore the purple and gold beating their chest over a midweek game

A midweek loss versus LSU hurts a lot less than a couple losses against UTSA this weekend. We take 3-of-4 or sweep this weekend and we are fine.

Everyone who follows Louisiana Tech knows that game was over the second Whorff was pulled after two innings. If you let Whorff go the distance, now Fincher, Jennings and Gibson have to be perfect this weekend for you to take 3-of-4. Now we will have all four bullets against a decent UTSA squad.

The 20 host sites were already locked in Monday according to Kendall Rogers so this game meant nothing towards that.

Your beach volleyball budget is bigger than our athletic budget. Congratulations, my dude.

But there is not such a great budget gulf between LTU and UL, and we swept y'all too this year, lol. In fact, we shut you out 7-0 the second game, which is pretty eye-opening, given how strong your bats are.
