TIFWIW I have a couple friends who played ball with Rendon in high school/college who insist he’s going to retire at like 35. I think he may have even said as much publicly.

Wow

I dont even know how this would work. Putting rendon at third would move Turner to first and then we will have to move on from one of seager, muncy, or lux which doesnt seem smart

I think Rendon could handle second fine honestly. At least right now, maybe not in a couple years.

He played it fine his first few years and he still looks pretty athletic to me

I just dont like the idea of moving gold glove level talent around as I feel like that just weakens their defensive value. I was really against moving bellinger to the outfield for that reason but that's worked out wonderfully so what do I know

Pending free-agent left fielder Marcell Ozuna has made it known he’d prefer to re-sign with the Cardinals, but it doesn’t look likely with free agency approaching. The Cardinals won’t be making an effort to re-up Ozuna to a long-term contract before the market opens in a couple weeks, Mark Saxon of The Athletic writes (subscription link). They are, however, likely to issue Ozuna a $17.8MM qualifying offer, according to Saxon.

Internal. Won't be addressing the OF externally.

Joe Girardi left Citizens Bank Park yesterday as the “leading candidate” to be the next Phillies manger, according to a source. A decision could come as early as Thursday.

yeah, would just waste the talent.

I look at washington as a better fit with a more veteran-ish team, not young talent up and down order.

Why? For 1 year at that price, it's easily worthy.

But i would rather move on, although if he leaves there is no other big bats, except 1b. So you lose a lot of power when he goes and i don't think Mo'ron can fill the spot.

Just more Fowler,Bader

We've already said we aren't filling the spot externally, internal options only.

Best case scenario: Carlson wins the job in spring training.

horrible take considering his best work with the Braves has been with the young players.

Soto, Robles, Turner, Zimmerman, and Strasburg are all home grown Nats... 3 of those will be Nats for awhile....

Every team needs a veteran presence in order to have success.... Nationals have Kendrick, Eaton, Max, Corbin, Sanchez, Doolittle....
