Sources: #Astros, facing difficult payroll choices, have considered trading Carlos Correa. Story:

Lots of Astros baws on this site have brought that up. Didn’t think it might actually happen.

It would be nice if a decent free agent signed somewhere other than the NL East.
at least you dont have to worry about the Mets, we arent going to be doing shite apparently. Cant wait for the (hopefully)new owner to take control

Either way, he makes it sound like something that will happen down the road in like January if it does end up happening

I know Boras is saying it's probably going to wrap up soon. Assumed that meant tomorrow

They’ve already paid two of their core four dudes. Only Springer and Correa left, Correa has some value on the market obviously and there is no chance you can afford what he will ask. You can probably get a deal with Springer done. He will hit FA next year as a 31-32 year old.
I’m very interested as to what they can get back in return. Hopefully a young controllable top of rotation guy.
Doesn’t look like anything concrete with the report just that Astros have had internal discussions will be interesting to see this develop

If they can get a frontline type starter with some control I’m all for it. Still think it will be near impossible to find the right team/situation. Mets might be the only one where there’s potential

Hes an interesting case study. Someone who should be able to get any possible package in a vacuum based on talent, but is just never healthy for whatever bizarre reason

I don’t watch near as much NL, but isn’t Kris Bryant a similar case? He may be healthy a bit more, but I think Correa is a better player overall.
Rumors of a Texas package for him were saying top pitching prospect and no. 1 overall prospect to trade for him and then some.
I’m not up to date on their control, but I would assume Correa would fetch more than him.

Ozuna potentially to ATL, not excited

Correa is definitely more valuable when healthy

Plays a more important position and is younger than Bryant. However, Bryant has essentially played 148+ games every year but 2018 while Correa has only played 111+ once.

I think I'd prefer Bryant's relative durability
