we are officially entering the mystery team stage

Hear there’s a mystery team on Cole. Hard to imagine anyone thinks they are coming in late and outbidding the Yankees and 2 LA teams (even if one’s in Anaheim). No idea the identity of said team, but that’s why it’s a mystery.

the twins are apparently going after ryu, bumgarner, and/or keuchel. rosenthal didnt completely shoot down the idea that you could get all three combined for less than cole

What makes you better? Cole at $300 million or a trio of $100 million pitchers?

Most likely they don't. They have depleted their farm system over the last 5 years with trades.

They basically have just 2 top 100 prospects in Carter Kieboom and Luis Garcia. That just wont be enough to trade for a Bryant.

Angels using 15th overall pick to dump some money, presumably for a big signing,

They should just keep their draft pick and pay the bad contract IMO but it’s not my money

It would be nice if a decent free agent signed somewhere other than the NL East.

Damn on a 1 year deal, wish the Yankees would have brought him back for 1 year and let him re-establish himself

Zaidi shoring up the Giants infield depth. Acquired Dubon last year and now Wilson

It’s one year, too, for 13m. Not like we’re talking some long term albatross. Plus I don’t think the Angels would be threatening the tax even if they added a 40m type deal.

Nice trade for the Giants though

Yeah, Moreno has thrown money at stupider things, so whats another 13 mil for a year if you get to keep your #3 prospect in a bad system.
