That seems like too much more than Strasburg considering one guy is negotiating for both of them. I feel like Boras would be getting more for Strasburg if that’s the Cole market idk
Especially considering the deferrals that are almost assuredly in Strasburg’s deal

Scott Boras is such a boss

Yep
Negotiate Strasburg first before cole, knowing they Nats couldn’t afford to lose two home grown talents in him and rendon. Nats had to overpay. Now he can set Cole’s price even higher than it was anticipated

These numbers are just stupid..... To play a game??????? Crazy.
On the surface, yes, but they are the product and the owners obviously are doing pretty damned good
7/$245MM is a cool $1MM+ a start.

Strasburg is a damn good pitcher. But that’s a lot for someone with his injury history.

Kinda excited about draft being in Omaha before the College World Series now. Just wondering if it will be a distraction.

Phillies have also checked in on KB. Bryant's service time grievance remains an issue in any talks.

"To hear both Boras and Rizzo discuss it, Strasburg also wanted to make sure his new deal didn’t negatively impact the Nationals’ ability to maintain a championship-caliber roster. He agreed to a contract that includes a reported $80 million in deferrals, and that could free up more money for the organization to address other needs this winter, perhaps even to re-sign third baseman Anthony Rendon."
What a great guy. Not just focused on himself but also trying to help the organization he will spend his whole career with.
