I think bum is going to find that jon lester type marriage with a team. A team like the white sox will pay for the leadership and playoff experience in hopes it rubs off on the young guys. Contract will be longer/more money that people expect - they hope to get 3-4 above average seasons and will be thankful for a league average guy on the back end of the deal

My Fightins overpay yet again. But, without progression by Pivetta and Eflin, and putrid farm arm developing for decades now, was needed. Having missed out on Corbin last Spring.

Middleton not getting any ROI for a Top 10 payroll. And still need much more roster moves.

I don’t typically send stuff like this out there, but got the nod to do so with this one — got a text from reliable person saying that Cole will sign with the #Angels. “Moreno will do whatever it takes.”

The #Brewers have found their primary replacement for Yasmani Grandal. They are close to acquiring catcher Omar Narváez from the #Mariners, a source tells The Athletic. M’s would receive at least one minor leaguer in return.

This is Andrew Friedman’s style, even going back to his days with the low-revenue Rays — forever on the prowl, in search of impact, even though he rarely completes such deals. And now, with the Dodgers operating with the most payroll flexibility Friedman has enjoyed since becoming president of baseball operations in Oct. 2014, he is in position to sign a Gerrit Cole or trade for a Mookie Betts.

If he chooses

I'd love to see Betts in a Dodgers uniform, that would cost what? 2-3 from your top 10 not counting Lux or May

Theres next to no chance he gets moved cause the red sox arent getting any offer that is remotely fair for betts' talent

Let's isn't going to fetch what the Red Sox gave up for Sale.
I mean giving up Joc, the catching prospect, and maybe one other in the 10-20 range would be plenty

I would probably do that if it was just Ruiz and Joc. But the red sox wont unless they are being forced into it by ownership. Which can happen I guess if they fail to get any market going for martinez

Seems that the Astros are very interested in Willson Contreras and it also seems like the Cubs are willing to trade him. He is under control for 3 years and cheap. I’ll be interested to see exactly how much they are willing to give up.

Would love to land him but I think it could be tough to match up. There’s no way Tucker or Whitley are on the table for him and there’s a pretty steep drop off after that as far as prospects now. I think the Cubs will get better offers with some major league ready contributors than what the Astros can do once you take those guys out of the equation

I think the Cubs want Whitley. Younger pitching is Theo’s priority.
