Doubt you can get much, I would hold on to him as a solid backup unless someone really wants him.

i wouldnt. shouldnt be too hard to find him some time behind the plate and let grandal DH, even if that does lose some of grandals defensive value

Yadi is unique, Cardinals wanted to keep him he doesn't make 20 million at 35 on the open market.

Posey was 26 and an MVP

Steven Marcus Hall of Fame Ballot only has Jeter. I hate that with so many deserving players on it

I'm already tired of the Jeter Hall of Fame suckoff. They're going to put him in unanimously which, like Mo Rivera, is ridiculous considering some of the players who weren't unanimous votes.

Getting in unanimously when he doesn't even deserve to be 1st ballot

Who cares about the past players, now that No broke that stigma it is going to happen more frequently. So what if Jeter gets 100% as well

David Ortiz probably hits 100
Andrian Beltre will get 100
Joe Mauer will get close, probably Utley with both over 85%
CC and Ichiro After that, then you have tons of current plAyers who will get it like Verlander, Max, Kershaw, Trout, Altuve

Amazingly, these projections show Cole’s level of effectiveness barely budging over the next few seasons and remaining high throughout that period.

Cole’s projected ERA by year
2020: 2.57
2021: 2.56
2022: 2.59
2023: 2.66
2024: 2.75
2025: 2.82
2026: 2.92

The next step was for MLB.com senior data architect Tom Tango to take the projections for Cole’s rate stats, combine them with his projections for innings pitched, and produce WAR values. The innings projections were based on what pitchers of similar ages have done in the past.

Cole’s projected IP, WAR by year
2020: 200 IP, 6.5 WAR
2021: 180 IP, 5.9 WAR
2022: 162 IP, 5.3 WAR
2023: 146 IP, 4.6 WAR
2024: 131 IP, 4.0 WAR
2025: 118 IP, 3.5 WAR
2026: 106 IP, 3.0 WAR
Total: 1,043 IP, 32.9 WAR
Average: 149 IP, 4.7 WAR

Best-case scenarios: Scherzer (40.6 WAR), Verlander (35.3), Cole Hamels (29.7)

Modest outlook: Tim Hudson (21.8), CC Sabathia (18.3), Johan Santana (15.3), Adam Wainwright (15.1)

The red flags: John Lackey (9.3), Jered Weaver (9.2), Dan Haren (8.7), Brandon Webb (5.4), Felix Hernandez (4.7)

If Larry Walker misses out on the HOF, it will be a huge injustice

Accusations, allegations or whatever you want to hurl-makes no matter to me. I laugh at how much of a pussy the media has made grown men in America.

basically, the pirates screwed with cole and made him pitch to contact. The Astros unleashed him as a dominant strikeout guy and it shows. I dont like long contracts, let alone to pitchers, let even more alone to guys approaching 30, but I feel better about Cole staying strong than others
