Seems like if he died they would’ve announced it or most likely would’ve leaked by now.
So the only 2 options I can think are:
1. Surgery (taking a while)
2. Very bad Head injury (discussing options with his family)

Any injury that has the potential to be head/neck/spine will be treated like that. Doesn't matter if they are transporting him 100 yards. The only way to prevent additional injury is to treat any injury as serious when it comes to that part of the body. They wouldn't toss him on a stretcher and roll out without having him totally secure

Blaney stated in post race he knew he couldn’t get by Newman so he was going to push him to the win. If you know anything about the front tri-oval, you can easily lose the back end of those cars. . .

Blaney wasn't trying to take him out. The cars get loose when pushed.
