The most annoying this about today's Lebron/millennial driven NBA is it seems no players have the fire to be the big dog and go to a team wanting to build something - to be the best on their terms.

No great player wants to do that at 30 years old. Why would LMA want to go to the Lakers? They're clearly in need of rebuilding but they trying to sell him on past success. Lakers don't have a plan, that's their biggest problem. Their rebuilding but only against their will at this point.

They gave Kobe that ridiculous contract. How can someone like LMA take them seriously when they see them give a huge contract to someone who clearly isn't pulling his weight anymore?

Their best hope right now is to offer Tobias Harris the max. I think it's overpaying but he's young enough and talented enough to be a part of the rebuild, plus he's not coming from a better situation.

The east is pretty wide open. ATL is probably the 2 seed, and CHI is probably the three seed, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if MIL jumped up to 50ish wins and got in the mix.

Kidd is a very good coach. If he can get through to MCW, they will make some noise.

I'm not saying he's not competent. I just don't think he's a championship caliber coach as he sits now. There's a lot more that goes into it than just being a good basketball mind.

There is no such thing as a championship caliber coach. Is Doc one? Spoelstra? It's a players' league. Popovich is the only guy in the league that I think hands down can elevate a team. After that, it's just about having a coach that can stay out of the way.

There's a lot of salt on that one. Might need to take something for it

I didn't say they would win a championship RIGHT NOW. I said the team is built to win one, hence in the future. They have the pieces, they have to put them together to win one.

All these players seem to be signing with the most "playoff READY" teams.

Shocker...players want to be in a situation where they play deep into the playoffs. Hilarious this is spun as a negative while the Lakers use PAST playoff success as a selling point.

I would take him. There are plenty of guys who are like demarre that could come in and flourish like him. Just gotta pick the right ones. I'm cool with thabo starting, though. Costs us some wing depth and we would be fricking stacked with thabo off the bench, but if he's gotta start that's cool with me.

2nd unit of schroder, hardaway, baze, Scott, splitter is extremely solid.

LOL

He is such a pussy.

ETA: He's an excellent player, and deserves max money, but this dance is a microcosm of his game.

My guess re: Kanter: OKC offered less than max, so Kanter is trying to pull a max offer sheet from somewhere, which OKC would then match.

If the Spurs miss out on Aldridge, I would actually want the Spurs to offer Kanter the max.

Exactly. I'm fairly confident Kidd could have led GSW to a title. Hell, almost anyone but Mark Jackson had a shot.

I don't know I don't think a lot of guys would have had the balls to make some of the adjustments he made, especially as a rookie HC.
