My guess re: Kanter: OKC offered less than max, so Kanter is trying to pull a max offer sheet from somewhere, which OKC would then match.

I'm not sure they have enough shooting, but they'll probably be a top 4 seed in the East.

Jason Kidd is considered a very good coach by basically every decent NBA mind.

Monroe is a good fit for Milwaukee...I'd be concerned t that he is going to clog up the paint somewhat, but it is a good move.

So very good he was traded to the bucks.

Im not saying he can't grow into that coach. I would say right now he's not ready.

Could have easily made a case for Kidd winning COY this past season if not for Budd and Kerr's incredible seasons

That had nothing to do with his coaching ability. He wanted more front office power.

quote:

Kidd lost a power play in Brooklyn, where he had tried to usurp the power of GM Billy King through ownership, sources said. Kidd had gone to ownership seeking the president of basketball operations title and was denied. It led to Brooklyn allowing him permission to talk with the Bucks, whose new co-owner, Marc Lasry, has been a longtime financial adviser.

He was traded because he pulled a power move on the Nets, not because he wasn't competent.

In the case of LMA they were apparently selling him on tradition and not on how they are going to win right now.

Two of the people most responsible for that tradition, one's dead and the other is with GS.

Kupchak's legit but prone to being overruled by ownership.

They really shot themselves in the foot with that Kobe contract in more ways than we thought at first. How could they think LMA wants to come there and be Kobe's sidekick?

Windhorst just said on ESPN that Milwaukee is a more attractive place for free agents right now than New York and L.A. are

I'm not saying he's not competent. I just don't think he's a championship caliber coach as he sits now. There's a lot more that goes into it than just being a good basketball mind.

The most annoying this about today's Lebron/millennial driven NBA is it seems no players have the fire to be the big dog and go to a team wanting to build something - to be the best on their terms.

All these players seem to be signing with the most "playoff READY" teams. Do any of them have the confidence to think their appearance makes the team playoff ready regardless?

How so? Bunch of young guys who haven't proven anything really

Could they be good? Sure. Saying they are a championship team right now seems little over the top though
