You see this?

quote:

LAS VEGAS—Despite a second DUI arrest in the last six months, embattled Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson is generating interest on the trade market, NBA sources told SI.com. Houston, Detroit and the L.A. Lakers are among the teams that have expressed interest in Lawson recently, and there remains a strong possibility the Nuggets could unload Lawson before training camp.

I had seen that on Pro Basketball Talk earlier this morning, as far as buying low it's the perfect time but I'm still skeptical if he's a good fit

With Harden and Lawson they would probably have the best defensive back court in the NBA.

I am too, but the way our offense works we don't need a pure PG. We need someone that can handle, shoot and create their own shot.

My problem with Lawson is that he's a moron off the court (obv) but if you can get him for a decent price tag you take the chance.

I don't see why the Pistons (Jackson, Jennings) or Lakers (just drafted Russell) would want him.

I guess the Buss family hasn't been to happy with Russell's Summer League outings. No clue why Detroit is in there unless they shipped off Jennings, and even then, still doesn't make much sense

I don't even think the Rockets need him. Would help depth-wise, but the Rockets just need to stay healthy although don't you still need a backup PG? Obviously Lawson would start and Beverly the backup, but without Lawson you need someone too

Pat is still here.

That would be a good looking offensive backcourt though.

I know that Lawson is a huge risk, and I will be almost relieved if we don't get him.

But the Rockets will have the roster to win a championship with him. And McHale has shown an amazing ability to forge chemistry. I think he could make it work.

Honestly, that is the exact opposite impression I get when I read your posts. You appear to have the ability to assess and judge, but your homerism seems to cloud your judgement, moreso than most.

That is the key

I love Beverly but I think him coming off the bench as a high energy guy is ideal if we can find a better PG.

Rockets got to the WCF with Terry and Prigioni at PG... they're like 38 years old and weren't even known as good defenders when they were 28.

They'd be fine with Lawson. Plus they have Beverley if they really needed someone to defend at the PG spot.

He's gotten steadily worse as a shooter numbers wise as his career has gone on too. I'm sure a big part of that is playing on steadily shittier teams but it is still concerning. 100% agree Bev's ideal role is coming off the bench as an energy guy

The Pistons interest in Lawson...not sure about that. It would pretty much have to be Jennings for Lawson...the Pistons would have to seriously doubt Jennings health to move him and the Nuggets would have to be desperate to move Lawson for a player who may not be healthy on an expiring deal.

Wouldnt be a huge fan of a Lawson signing, I'm fine keeping the guys we had an developing a little more continuity. That and health are the keys to a championship.

We need someone to take pressure off Harden in backcourt. He can't be expected to play perfect every game. Beverley will never be that guy.

They can trade for that guy during the season no need to get a guy who is a mess like Lawson. They can coast in the early season and still win 2/3 of the games.

Denver wants to unload Faried too. I know Morey wants that cap space, but a lineup of Lawson, Harden, Ariza, Faried and Dwight would be nice.

I actually think D-Mo would be a better fit in that lineup with Faried off the bench, but whatever.

He got a DUI he's not addicted to heroin.

I'd take Lawson and whatever perceived risk he comes with.
