Heard that LaMarcus Aldridge was leaning toward Lakers, a sign that their brand is not only back but never went away despite appearances.

I have a hard time seeing how he could pick the Spurs over the lakers.
not sure what his personality is like but being the star player for the lakers is really tough to beat. And he knows they're gonna be able to add his wing man when Kobe comes off the books next year. Playing for the Spurs seems like a real bore compared to being in LA.

When Pop and Duncan leave in 2 years an Aldridge - Leonard lead Spurs prob isn't even a top 4 seed. Go to LA and get Westbrook in a year or two and that team is better than what he'd have in SAS. And he'd be playing in LA and not San Antonio.

If Aldridge really goes to the Lakers, this will be an incredible offseason for them. I still really think they nailed it by taking Russell over Okafor.

Popovich could retire at any moment. And he really is a transcendent head coach that will be impossible to replace.

You don't know that. Plus Aldridge isn't some young player

But paired with Pop, Parker, and Aldridge they are. They would have been this season if not for injuries, odd tiebreakers, and the division rules (that are going away).

We don't know Westbrook is leaving

He's from Texas

You realize this will be the case for the Spurs too when Ginobili and Duncan come off the books?

I'd rather a player come to SA whose primary concern is winning basketball games. So if that's the case, the Lakers can have him. Location didn't seem to be a factor for Howard when he chose Houston over LA

Apparently not. I guess they photoshopped D'Angelo into this today

I think he meant the player them self cared about winning.
But that photo is too sexy

The Lakers are moving quickly, will meet with LaMarcus Aldridge immediately after free agency begins Tuesday at 9:01 pm.

Who cares if ginobili and Duncan are off the books when's the last time a top end FA chose SAS? If it has ever happened I'll be surprised. It's the smallest or second smallest TV market in the league iirc.
Howard left LA bc he didn't want to play with Kobe. He also joined forces with the only player to be named 1st team all NBA for the last 2 years outside of lebron.

When's the last time the Spurs had the money to attract a top end FA?

Any reason is a good reason for that

I don't know I don't keep up with them that much. But if you're Aldridge you know if you go to LA you're gonna have some bad arse dudes joining you in a year or two. Because it's LA it's the Lakers. If you go to SAS? Can't be all that confident that they'll be able to attract enough to get you over the hump.
