Meh I think everyone who is a fan of other WC teams should want DAJ to stay with Dallas.

Makes the Clippers significantly worse and doesn't make the Mavs really any better

That's what I'm thinking as of right now. This one move would slam LAC's window shut.

I would rather DAJ go to the Mavs. I was responding to the guy saying he'd feel bad for the Mavs of DAJ went back to the Clippers.

I wouldn't feel bad for them at all.

Yeah it will be whom exactly? Devin Harris or Jeremy Lin?

I think Harris will stay w/the second unit. They are still targeting Lin and if they get him he is going to play the bulk of the minutes at PG.

Even if they don't get Lin JJB will go back to being the spark plug backup behind whoever they eventually sign.

Which didn't make sense because he hasn't been a good defender since his injury

That's mainly b/c he quit trying. When he tried he was solid enough. The Mavs thought playing on a playoff team heading into FA he would give a shite again. They guessed wrong.

He was still a clear step above Nelson defensively right up until he flat out quit during the playoffs.

Gave up 3 good rotation players for a guy that MIGHT work out.

The move was dumb. There is no rationalizing it.

Y'all should really run JJ with the 1st team just to keep the turnovers down. Your 1st team has enough offense without Lin. Let Lin be your spark off the bench. Any more than 22 minutes per night and he will really become an offensive liability via TO's.

@BobbyMarks42: Like baseball there are certain "unwritten rules" and this is a big violation of it. Once a player commits to another team you move on.
Oh, I'd definitely agree, and it would be a shitty move by DJ.

But...if I'm DJ, I'm choosing my own future over an unwritten rule. I wouldn't suck it up and regret it over that, no chance. I'd just know I f'ed up big time.

If Rondo didn't have his name, he would be thought of as on the same level as a guy like Ish Smith.

Good to see DeAndre rethinking his career suicide and realizing the smoke Cuban blew up his arse

But he can gtfo and let McMorrow and Dawson tear shite up

I don't think Ish Smith has ever put up 44, 8, and 10 in a playoff game before.

I'm very aware, especially as a Mavs fan. I just meant that I wouldn't consider him on that same level. I was probably one of the least excited Mavs fans about the Rondo trade, but it's not like he's been a scrub his whole career.

And I thought the Lakers begging for a second LAM meeting was nuts.

This is insanely low rent on the part of the clippers. Though I have to assume they only did it because an agent or somebody floated his uncertainty to them.

I'd think the agent would be pushing him to not go back on his deal. Bad for business probably.

Fegan and Cuban have a pretty damn close relationship too, so you're probably right.

I highly doubt an agent like Dan Fegan would do something like that. It would frick his bargaining power for all of his other clients b/c nobody would every trust him again.

One of his hangers-on then. I just don't believe the clippers would do this unsolicited.

If DJ backs out, I hope Dirk just retires. I think it'd be super painful to watch languishing away in his last 2 years on a team that wins 12 games.
