So woj said earlier today that kobe was the only part LMA liked about his laker meeting. But Kobe is the issue
kobe is an issue relating to cap space. Mitch is more the issue regarding everything else when it comes to guys who just want to win.

If Kobe was making what he's worth at this stage in his career, the Lakers could have feasibly had room for 2 max contracts this summer, which could have changed everything. I'm strictly talking about this season.
I don't think Kobe is the problem in LA (when it comes to players that have similar drive and work ethic at least), and Mitch had a terrible week last week in regards to the LMA meetings and how he came out of them appearance-wise. I think he got exposed a little bit.

Very true. The FO knew what max contracts they wanted and they weren't coming in 2015 anyway.
Pay Kobe well and send a message to the next crop of young stars starting in 2016 - "we'll take care of you"

He was supposed to sell him on the future and how they were going to use them
Reports said that the whole meeting was basically them saying how awesome LA is and Kobe saying that the lakers will always have his back and bring in new talent like they did with gasol and Odom after Shaq left and then tried with CP3 and what they did with Dwight and Nash.
They sold him on the past. They didn't impress him with their future plans or any basketball knowledge. That's why in the second meeting they made sure to bring their "analytics" guy or whatever and try to explain what they were going to do with him.
Lakers are delusional and stuck in the past and think their name alone will win over FAs

And Shaq came when yall had a good coach and were also a 50+ win team.

Ok? I don't see where I was defending the lakers meeting. I guess you just wanted to say

I honestly don't know anything about Harris. All I know is he was coaching young teams to 50+ win seasons. That was attractive.
Byron Scotts last 5 seasons as a head coach..
fired after 9 games with the Hornets
19-63 Cavs
21-45 Cavs
24-58 Cavs
21-61 Lakers
As 14 years as a head coach he has won 50 games TWICE
Del Harris's last 5 years in the NBA (all with lakers)
48-34
53-29
56-26
61-21
6-6 (fired)
I'm not saying Harris career >> Scotts career
But Harris was building up the Lakers while he was there and during the end of his career.
Scott has been on a downward spiral. He is not an attractive coach that players would like to go play for at this point. Especially with him not being adjust to todays game. He's so anti analytic and anti 3 pointer.. He just isn't working out

none of del harris' laker teams were anywhere near as bad as the teams that byron had with us or with the cavs. im not trying to defend byron cause i dont like him, but trying to compare his situation to del's is fricking stupid
shaq himself said he chose to come to LA because of the laker brand and because of jerry west selling him on being the next great laker big. so i dont get why youre throwing around del harris

So you are saying he was an average coach and did better with Shaq in his prime.
Def not a "good coach" like you said. He was just OK.
