Tiger doesnt give a shite about ryder cups. He would trade 10 ryder cups for 1 more green jacket

So let's hide him on the bench Friday and Saturday then send him out in the first match on Sunday.

Maybe you should find something else to
about.

The dumb that comes out on this site about golf astounds me

The only really dumb move today worth critiquing is Stricker's decision to chip that shot on 17...

2 Captain Picks (vets) let us down
ETA; I'm sick of Tigers shite. We can just save him for Sundays at the Ryder Cup. He doesn't want to play with this person or that person. I mean 0-3 is freaking terrible in team play.

It's so weird that our players are so much better than their team in medal play but they are so much better at match play. Ian Poulter hasn't even sniffed a major and the dude is lights out in match play. I think Kaymer, McIlroy, Lawrie (gift from Van De Velde) are the only ones with majors. and it's been that way for a long time. Monty was a bad-arse in ryder cup too....zero majors.

He's 20-14-1 in the President's Cup.
He's been on 1 winning Ryder Cup team. We lose this thing a lot. The Euros are better at it than we are

This has bugged me for years. I really do think it's a case of Europe wanting it more. I don't think our guys "don't give a shite" like some on here suggest, but it's definitely more important to them than us. Hopefully, this breath of fresh air from Keegan, Bubba, Dufner, etc along with losing 7 of 9 will reenergize our side in the future. This is one of my favorite events every 2 years, and I was just as pissed this afternoon as I am when LSU loses.

If tiger woods would have won his 1997 match, the US would have won.
Tom Kite should have picked himself as a Captains pick and not even played tiger in any of the matches. Tom Kite would have done better in 1997 than Tiger did.
Imagine that, a Ryder cup captain losing the cup because he didn't pick himself

It was still better than Mahan's chip two years ago

This was really my first Ryder Cup I really paid attention to and I really enjoyed it (except for the whole choking part). The team dynamic and the atmosphere at the event cant be matched.
With that I was wondering with a few buddies this - do yall ever think it will be expanded to individualize some of the European nations? Golf is very global and even more so now than it was 20 years ago. Do you think we could ever do a Ryder Cup with 4 teams that took 2 weeks? It would be the US, the UK, the next best ranked Euro nation based on FedEx standings and then another team comprising the best remaining Euro players not from those 2 countries. I think it would be cool. Thoughts?

Not only NO...but Hell NO! This event is in a class all it's own. It took an act of God to get golf into the Olympics, so I wouldn't imagine this would happen anytime soon.
I think if you add too many more countries it would diminish the final product!

I could see that. Just wondering if it's ever been talked about especially if Europe continues to dominate.
Team or individual like tennis? To me it's dumb to have this individual sport in the Olympics because they play every week against each other anyway (I think the same about Olympic tennis)

This cup was lost when Davis Love made his captains picks.
I strongly advocated against both Furyk and Stricker and as it turns out those two guys really cost us the cup in a nutshell. they were garbage.
the only reason stricker was picked was to babysit tiger and to hopefully make consistent 8-10 foot putts which he sucked at all weekend.
furyk has choked on the last two holes all season and he coughed up a full point and then half a point in his match.
This came down to taking two old guys with bad nerves for the wrong reasons. I would have rather seen Fowler and Van Pelt or just about anyone else.

I have a vision (dream really) one day to fundraise enough money to start a golf league in which different teams would compete against each other (ryder cup style) during a regular season that ends with a playoff and championship match ...
It would be like any other league in which each team would have an owner and be based in a home city. Players would be paid just as any other sports league and their would be a draft. It would be close to impossible to get the The upper echelon players involved but I am almost certain you can get great interest from young players who are struggling on the mini tours (since they would be guaranteed a pay check).
Of course to really make it work you would need some sort of tv contract and that is probably why this idea will never take off ... But from the interest the Ryder cup gets - I think there may be a market for this ... I just haven't found the right venture capitalist to fund it yet
