I think the Steelers are getting a pass for picking a safety most had graded as a 3rd-4th round pick because his brother was a first rounder as well

Want a MLB or FS for the Raiders tonight, but I'd be extremely satisfied to snag a guy like Sam Hubbard or Jeff Holland. Need players to compliment Mack.

With the decrease in TD production last season, are you that confident in Bryan to be an immediate impact?

Like I had said in my comment that you didn't quote, adding Ridley means that not even Sark can frick up this offense. They drafted best player available. But there are still talented WRs left in this draft I think could have made a large impact as well.

Then you look at the other side of the ball, and who do we have besides Grady Jarrett? And Grady Jarrett is decent, but he isn't amazing. Ridley will be a day one starter, but Bryan would have as well and filled a much bigger hole. At this point, I'm hoping the falcons trade up to get Hurst. This draft might be loaded with D talent, but you need the very best DT. We let Poe go, didn't address a DT starter in FA. A DT is a must at this point.

Curious why yal didn't take Bryan, considering how many times yal met with him. I penciled him in to yal just because of that.

Ridley might be bpa, but that group is definitely similar in talent. I'd think DT being a larger need takes the priority though. But who knows, that's what makes the draft fun.

Yeah, that's why I am so conflicted on this pick. DT is such a massive need. It's been a while since we have need at a certain position this badly.

However, you just now made a pick that will make teams have to adjust to you. Picking the DT was a huge need, but picking another WR 1 talent will force teams to change their normal defensive plans. I expect to see formations that have Julio, Ridley, Sanu, Coleman, and Freeman all on the field at the same time. Will be glorious.

I was skeptical too but the more I look into it the more I realize how awesome a pick Ridley was. Draftwire ranks interior defensive lineman as the 4th best group this year. So we should have premiere talent still available when we pick tonight, if we go that direction

If you’re in need of a massive defender to anchor your front line, you’re in luck with this year’s group. From huge, athletic space-eaters like Vea, Payne, Nnadi and Settle, to smaller yet disruptive prospects like Hurst, Phillips, Bryan and Shepherd, this class has something for every scheme and alignment. Sleepers like Virginia’s Andrew Brown and USF’s Deadrin Senat underscore the depth of this crew, as do talented tandems from Miami (RJ McIntosh, Kendrick Norton and North Carolina State (B.J. Hill, Justin Jones). There will be starting-caliber players from this group still on the board when Day 3 rolls around.

This is what stands out to me. Their are starting-caliber players on day 3....for teams that have a good DL to pair up with the DT. Our Dline IMO is the only weak unit we have. And they are weak as hell compared to other teams starting DL. It will take a very talented DT to come in and make an actual impact.

With Coleman and Freeman’s ability to catch out of the backfield and also play slot, I think this will easily be the best receiving group the Falcons have ever had. Even better than Julio, Roddy, and future hall of famer Tony Gonzales

It was known pretty much right after the pick by the browns the Jets pumped Mayfield up for a couple of weeks and even tried to offer a trade up, which was a laughable offer to try and get the Browns to bite. And they did. I can’t remember which article it was, but it was discussed a week or so ago

Are you saying that the Browns trust the New York Jets QB evaluation more than their own? So they somehow downgraded from taking advice from a homeless guy?

I think they simply didn't see Bryan as some "must have" player compared to the next few DTs that will come off the board. It's been rumored pretty heavily that after the first couple of DTs (Vea and Payne) the Falcons had the next few DTs in the same tier together. If that's the case then best player available at a position that can help makes a lot of sense. Julio is off the field for a decent % of plays and other than Sanu the WR corp after that is not good. Ridley could be an offense changer for the Falcons.

True. It's like green bay when they had jordy, Cobb, and Adams at the same time. Caused mismatches all over.
