I actually like that you brought up lattimore

Look at the value we got at 12, and look at what the browns took at 4

Going corner that early was not a good move IMHo. He would have been there for them in a trade back

Completely different draft class. There were limited elite skill players in this draft.

Also, who's trading with you? After Mayfield went #1, QBs would still be there for other teams. I'm not sure who comes from inside the top 10.

The bills for sure at #12, which may cause you to lose ward, but if you weren’t set on taking Chubb at 4 (which I think is crazy) I would have traded

The bills were dying to trade with the broncos at 5

The broncos agreed until they saw the browns went full herp derp and didn’t take Chubb

Maybe so, but if you love Ward, and obviously they did, you don't risk trading back to lose him.

Side note, I just remembered the Mayfield flag stab at OSU. I wonder how that presser will go with he and Ward.

Definitely feels like someone would have wanted to trade to 4 for Chubb.

But I do think we(not saying you specifically) make trades happen way too easily. Maybe CLE wanted to trade out of 4, maybe multiple teams wanted to trade to 4 as well. But it's obviously a small window on the clock, and teams simply don't always come to agreements in time to get a deal done.

i just want to drop in and say the browns could frick up a wet dream. no one was moving up to take mayfield, they could have had barkley and mayfield at 4.

also like to give a at the Jets. they must have assumed darnold would go 1 and had their eyes on rosen. when mayfield went they panicked and took darnold. why are they even scouting and paying people for draft stuff? not to say darnold wont have a good career, but you switch your pick from your guy in the eleventh hour.

how do the same teams stay so bad year in and year out?? look no further than the browns and jets.

Jets may have wanted him at 3.

I guess it just depends on how much more they valued Mayfield over whoever would have been left, likely Allen/Rosen. I'd prefer a Rosen/Barkley combo to Mayfield/Ward, but who knows, Ward could be a legit shutdown guy. But obviously it all comes down to the QBs, as usual.

i dont mind the ward pick at all. they needed a corner. ohio st corners have had the most success of any college in the last five years. helps them sell a local kid to the fan base while baker sits behind tmobile for the first 12 games this season

There was a lot of chatter about the Jets and Mayfield.

But then again, too much shite flying around leading up to the draft

They already have Hyde and Johnson

I would rather Mayfield and CHubb honestly

But like you said, the Browns can frick up a wet dream

It was known pretty much right after the pick by the browns the Jets pumped Mayfield up for a couple of weeks and even tried to offer a trade up, which was a laughable offer to try and get the Browns to bite. And they did. I can’t remember which article it was, but it was discussed a week or so ago. I may catch a lot of crap over it, but you can’t deny Mayfields intensity and drive. He rustles a lot of people and can be immature, but I see him wanting to win and wanting to win now, and not letting anything stop him. And honestly I’ve never liked him at all. He just seems to have a higher motor and more driven than the other guys. Whether that translates to anything with the Browns will be seen.

I like the Allen kid. Forget his teenage tweets, but he seems to be more down to earth and the want to learn and prove people wrong. I don’t even care at all for Darnold or Rosen. I believe they are overhyped. If this had been a different QB class, you could have gotten some of those in rounds 2-3.

And for Jackson I’m just not sure. At points in college when he was given time, he could drop any ball in a bucket. Then other times he would automatically take off when the first guy wasn’t open. Personally I don’t think Baltimore is the place for him. Might could have used what he has somewhere else. Or maybe he can learn and be taught to stay in the pocket longer. He can still run the RPO from those packages. Anyways jmo.

I dont see how an inaccurate college qb will become accurate in the pros.....

I'm not sure how I feel about the Falcons taking Ridley last night.

On one hand, we really needed a DT. And some good ones were there at the pick. They didn't address this in FA, and we really need a good DT in the draft. There is still time, but who knows if we can land a DT who can come in right away and make an impact now.

On the other hand, you draft the best available. And adding Ridley to the WR combo of Julio and Sanu, and overall with Freeman and Coleman, I don't think even Sark can frick up this offense. Ridley could honestly be teams WR1 after a full season of experience. Maybe even by midseason this year.
