Nebraska was up 35-7 in the fourth and their third string gave up 2 garbage time tds. You claimed you watched the game, you should know this

The gap between them and the rest of college football that year was one of the biggest modern football has every had in terms of #1 vs. the rest of it.

And that's what matters in the end. You can't say the same thing for 2019 LSU. There were games in there where they looked mortal/vulnerable.

1995 Nebraska never looked like a mortal team. And neither did 1995 Florida until those two teams played. Nebraska's closest game entering that Fiesta Bowl was 14 points, while Florida's was 11 points. Florida was actually a 3-point favorite coming into the game and Nebraska totally annihilated them as if they were an FCS team.

Only final score matters remember

Context is not and will not be used. We “almost lost” to Bama dude

The same thing as LSU's game vs 4-8 Ole Miss, since I'm assuming the goal is to cherry pick the least impressive final score win for the team.

Was it you dogging Nebraska earlier for beating KSU and Kansas in a year when both teams were top ten when Nebraska faced them?

I get you're a LSU fan, but these sort of comparisons are always subjective. If you beat a bunch of .500 teams by 50, is that better than a string of 1 point squeakers vs top 25 teams? Even if the question is just resume, that still isn't clear.

Apparently I did and you didn’t considering you didn’t realize Nebraska didn’t crush 3-8 Washington state

They played sloppy and won by 14.

Two whole TD's.

The Blackshirts, after allowing Frank Madu's 87-yard touchdown run less than seven minutes into the game, held Washington State to 92 yards in the next seven possessions, including one first-half stretch in which the Cougars went for no gain or negative yards on nine straight plays.

Nebraska (5-0) ran for 428 yards and gained 527 overall, marking the first time in Osborne's career that his offense has gained 500 or more yards in five straight games.
Yet the 23-year head coach wasn't satisfied.
"When you get over 500 yards against a team like that, it's pretty good movement, " he said. "But the scoring wasn't commensurate with the yards.
"We missed two or three scoring opportunities. A couple of times we didn't execute. And a couple of times, maybe I could have called something a little more intelligent."

LOL a team from 25 years ago doesn’t stand a chance against a good power 5 team from today because of different contexts and advances of the game and athletes, however the 1995 Nebraska team set the modern gold standard for single-season domination. 53-14 average MOV the only stat anyone needs to prove this case about them being the most dominant team of all-time.

And what makes that 53 PPG stat so much more impressive is the way they did it. They were a power run team that also ran the option out of the I-Formation. Teams like that generally don't get that kind of yardage or points.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is arguing that they'd win head to head. I mean, Oklahoma won 47 in a row 60 years ago and they wouldn't be a good FCS team today.

Not sure why they think I am saying Nebraska didn’t have the most dominate season

Just pointing out it’s clear LSU has the best resume ever

It's not clear. That's my point. It's arguable. Just becauee Mike Greensburg, who doesn't know if a football is blown up or stuffed said so, doesn't mean it's clear.

I’m not. You and others aren’t actually reading

Never once have I said LSU is the best are most dominate team

I just simply said they have the best resume, which is agreed upon by everyone except a select few who are upset

They only beat Auburn by 3.

They only beat Bama (in a down year) by 5.

Thats part of their resume.

Ok. I'll bite. They have the best resume... It was an awesome season and I enjoyed every second of it. But IMO. 1995 Nebraska is the best single season team of all time. They destroyed teams that year better than what LSu did this year.

”Only” beating 14th ranked by 4 and 8th ranked Bama by 5 isn’t as big of a blemish as “only” beating a 3 win team by 14

Truth is, if you watched any of these 3 games, Nebraska not LSU “almost lost”

They had over 500 yards and were up 28-7 in the 3rd. They didn't almost lost, they gave up a long run on a bust and a couple of garbage TD's in the 4th.

It isn't that simple.

Just playing more ranked teams doesn't give you a better resume. Your resume also includes how the team performed vs that competition.

Simple example, which is better for the resume, a 21-20 win vs the #5 team or a 42-14 win vs the #20 team?
