My favorite thing about the whole fight was there’s a story that Ron artest got back in the locker room and asked jermaine o neal if he thought they’d be suspended.

Imagine the mindset of a person who didn’t think they’d be suspended for that

I genuinely do remember that game. I watched the first few minutes, got bored, fricked around on the ps2 for a bit then turned it back on right as the 4th started and I was fricking around the internet. Probably the most entertained I had been by anything in the NBA since Jordan had retired.

Jim Gray was like Jared from Subway on his first day in prison. I've never seen a reporter so shook on live TV.

Article I just read says Artest asked Jackson if they'd be in trouble.

Jackson replied something back about trouble?! we'll be lucky to have a job after this.

Everyone seems to have their own "man I saw that live" story when in all reality they probably didn't. It was a blowout of a game late on a Friday night in November. The season was early. Let's be real. Not everyone saw this one live. It's ok.

I was a diehard Pistons fan at the time and absolutely saw it live. Craziest shite I've ever seen during a sports broadcast, at the time I remember thinking Artest was looking at jail time and O'Neal might have killed that dude he popped on the court.

I watched it live. I had just moved into a new apartment, I think that day because I just had the TV sitting on a box, and didn't have cable installed yet. I figured out that if I plugged the cable in to the back of the TV I could get a grainy picture so I ordered some food and then the mayhem happened.

How about those poor saps who decided to leave early to beat traffic and missed out on this spectacle.

I legitimately don't leave games early that I attend to this day no matter the score solely due to the Malice at the Palace.

Think of the lawsuits today if that happened.

You can thank Ron Artest for some of these ridiculous rules we still have. X amount of techs and then you miss a game? What?!
