I've been watching golf for a very long time. This weekends duel between Henrik & Phil may have been the greatest display of one-on-one golf that I've seen. Particularly on a demanding course like Royal Troon.

Congrats to Henrik on his first major win.

one thing i didn't like hearing from mickelson all week was how there was "no pressure" on him because he's already won a claret jug.

that's pretty bullshite. not that he feels that way, but that he openly says it. it kind of comes across as if it won't be that big of a deal if he doesn't win it. he's never had that killer instinct.

that's just how i feel about that.

Just because he said it doesn't mean it's true. It's mind games.

He hasn't won in a very long time and he's getting up there in age, the pressure was there and he didn't fold, Stenson was just a little better this week.

Watching Phil's presser just shows how much he wanted to win. He felt pressure, he just handled it like a champ, but still came up short.

I kept saying the same thing all through the round. The Duel in the Sun was pretty amazing but I think this was better.

Sucks for Lefty, but he and the Stenson crushed everyone else.

lower course has changed since the last time the pga was there in 2005. it's a par-72 now, and holes 17 and 18 are both par 5s. interesting.

It was a 72 then just converted like it will be this time too.

17 and 18 have always been 5s

I don't get changing holes from par 5 to par 4. The hole is still the same so what difference does par make?

you don't gain as much when you beat the field ... long hitters who make 3 gain 1 stroke instead of 2 ...

If the average score on a hole is 4.5, you gain a half stroke for a 4 and lose a half stroke for a 5. And that's the same for everybody regardless of what's printed on the score card.

These guys made a very difficult course look easy. Unreal display of golf. Stenson just took this motherfricker.

My wife looks at me and says “Is this like a really easy course or something?” after about the 5th consecutive time they both hit it close to the pin
