Last update from the
Family was two days ago. I'm thinking if there was any good news to report they would have reported it.
Last update was around 1 today.

I'm guessing they didn't put him in the cold tub or tried to lower his core body temp before transporting him. That is key to surviving heat stroke,,,full body immersion cold tub at about 50°-55°. Can also lay somebody on a tarp, have people hold up the corners and dump ice over him. You have to lower the core temp before the internal organs cook.

Considering the resources RHS has I would wager heavily they have a well heeled training staff. I have personally seen the trains safe at a not so many resources as RHS save a kids life.

From my understanding 2 kids ended up in the hospital that day. One is still in critical condition. He is alive, but will need the power of prayer to avoid long term brain injury.

If this is true, then something was clearly missed by the coaching staff.

From the story I was told, they sprayed him down with the waterhose at the football facility. Apparently also stuck said waterhose in his mouth. He was put in an ice bath at the ER. Internal temp was still very high upon arrival.

Not good if that's the case. But I wish Paramedics and EMT's would get on board with cooling first prior to transport when exertional heat stroke is suspected. Cool first, transport second saves lives.

This is their first year using the new covered 'turf" training facility but I have no idea if he was on it or completely outside.
